(DL-M) Explanations
[DL] Waylene
Raynod flew Z'lec up to the apartment. It was already quite late and he was
pretty sure Waylene would be asleep already so he walked quietly into the
bed chamber. He began undressing, trying to make as little noise as possible.
"I think you've been avoiding me." said a voice in the dark. A candle was
lit and Waylene looked up at her mate. There was a teasing smile on her face.
"No, my love, I'm not avoiding you."
"But you do have something on your mind?" she asked knowing that he did.
He sighed. She always knew when there was something bothering him. "How do
you do that, 'Lene?"
"It's in your face. You may not know it but your face tells all." He sat on
the bed and she moved over and put her arms around him. Nuzzling in his
neck, she whispered, "So tell me, what's bothering you?"
"It's Tr'etram." He said simply.
"But, I heard everything went well. We have Malk under guard, only a few
minor injuries. I even heard Tr'etram was very brave and rescued Diana and
David."
Z'lec nodded absently. "He did. He was great. But, 'Lene, I don't if I can
do this."
"What?" she asked.
"Pretend he's the same man he used to be. I walked into the medical building
and he was standing over Diana, who was on the floor crying...." Z'lec
paused, "I couldn't help what I thought. I won't apologize for being
suspicious of him. He's only been here a day. Certainly not long enough to
prove to me that he is 'cured'."
Waylene sat back. She did understand, but she had also made a promise to the
man that he would be treated as any other transfer. "He has to be given a
chance."
"I know, but why here, why in *my* Warren." Z'lec bit his tongue, "I'm
sorry, I will give him the same rights as everyone else, I promise. But I
will also have my eye on him. I can't help it."
Waylene nodded. "I understand."
"He confronted about it. He asked me to keep my looks to myself, and give
him room. I can't promise that, 'Lene." Z'lec lay down, pulling the
coverings over him.
"I'll talk to him in the morning and ...." started Waylene.
"No! Not alone..." Z'lec said vehemently.
Waylene lay down putting her head on his chest, "Z'lec, I am WarrenLady
here. I will not allow myself to be scared because of his past history. I've
been assured that he's under control. I have to go with that. You must
understand that."
Z'lec held her tight, "I do." He sighed in concession. "Just don't expect me
to like it."
"I don't," she whispered. She moved so she could reach his face, caressing
his cheeks, running her fingers through his hair. He reached for her,
finding her lips with his. Within a brief time, the stresses of the day were
forgotten in their desire for each other.

Z'lec woke the next morning to cries from Raynod, <He's gone, Z'lec!>
<Who's gone?> asked Z'lec, not even sitting up.
<Malk>
Z'lec sat straight up in bed. <How?>
<David says Yenal took him out to the wastes. Now Yenal is back to make
amends to the warren for what Malk has done before going wild.>
<Before going wild?> Z'lec asked. He'd never heard of a joined dragon going
wild before.
<As Malk travels into the wastes, his bond to Yenal grow weaker and weaker.
Within a short time it will be gone forever.>
<Why doesn't he teleport?>
<Because Malk is not dead.> Said Raynod matter-of-factly. <There is always
the chance that once the bond is broken entirely he might. But I think the
bond was beginning to disintegrate long ago. It has been so gradual that
Yenal will probably survive, though he will suffer once the bond is
completely gone. It is inevitable.>
By this time, Waylene was up and getting the same information from Aura. She
turned and looked at her mate. He nodded to her and they both got up and
dressed quickly. Then meeting their dragons they glided down to the ground
where David was questioning the black Yenal.

*****
NRPG: Lyn, I don't think Z'lec would say anymore to Tr'etram, he's already
pretty much gone the way of guilty until proven otherwise... but expect
Waylene to call for him to chat over it.
Chris, I hope Raynod's explanation is okay.
