(DL-M) As dragons gab....
[DL] Z'lec
"She's where?" Z'lec roared when Raynod passed along Diana's message.
<She and Zena are in Koroth's apartment, should you need them.> said the
large white smoothly. <Why does that upset you Z?>
<Because... Because of...>
<Koroth has promised to report should his rider become unbalanced again.
Koroth reports no such thing happening.>
Z'lec sighed. He found himself having a difficult time allowing that man to
just roam free as if nothing had happened. Why had Waylene allowed him to
come? It just made his job so much harder.
<He has not done anything to hurt Zena's rider. She would not let him.>
Z'lec frowned. Looking skyward he saw the navy blue of Tr'etram's dragon
land a short distance away. He saw Tr'etram head into the office tunnels.
Staring after him briefly, his eyes widened, "Waylene..." he whispered. He
remembered that Waylene had planned on calling the man in to talk.
Z'lec headed toward Waylene's office, determined he wasn't going to be far
just in case he was needed.
****
After his encounter with Tr'etram in the hallway, Z'lec entered Waylene's
office. She was sitting with her head on her desk, "'Lene, what's wrong?"
She sat up and looked at him frowning, "So have you been waiting all morning
for him to stop by?"
Z'lec looked rather sheepish, "I just..."
"I know, Z'lec." She said sighing. "This isn't easy from Tr'etram either and
he's got to be given a chance. I promised."
"Are you regretting that decision now?"
"No," she said frankly. "Z'lec even you have to admit he was instrumental in
saving the day yesterday. If we give him a chance, he could prove to be an
incredible asset to us."
"But he also might go over the edge."
Waylene nodded, "I know, but with Koroth and the healers monitoring him, I
think that likelihood is slim."
"Do you know that Diana spent the night with him?"
Waylene's eyes showed her shock. Recovering quickly she looked at her mate,
"Z'lec who they chose to spend thier time with isn't our business. Diana's a
big girl and she has Zena."
"Waylene, the man is a rapist!"
"Was... Z'lec. He's been cured."
"We don't know that for sure."
"Perhaps not, but I agreed to give him a chance. You have to back me up on
this." Waylene pleaded to him with her eyes.
Z'lec nodded, "I told you I'd try."
Waylene stood and walked over to him, putting her arms around him. He
returned his embrace. Looking up at him, she whispered, "You have to try
harder, my love."
Waylene felt his body tense up, but slowly he relaxed and whispered his
promise to her. Not knowing for sure whether he could keep it or not, he
still promised. Vowing to do his best to put Tr'etram's past behind him.
****
Z'lec was just about to leave when there was a quiet knock at the door.
"Come in," said Waylene. A woman who Waylene did not recognize entered.
"Warrenlady, I am Baeta, a new transfer. I need to speak to you about a
matter of great importance to the safety of the people here."
"Of course, Baeta. Please have a seat." She said moving to take a seat
behind her desk.
"If you'll excuse me, ladies," said Z'lec turning to leave.
"You are Z'lec, right." said Baeta. When he nodded she said, "I'd like you
to stay and hear this as well. You are Wingleader."
Z'lec sat down and waited to hear what she had to say.
"It has come to my attention that there is a dragonrider here named
Tr'etram, who raped his own daughter."
Waylene's face fell and Z'lec stood up enraged, "His daughter! Waylene... it
was his daughter?"
Brought out of her shock by Z'lec's outburst, calmly she said, "Z'lec, sit
down." He was about to object, but the look in her eyes, made him listen and
sit down. Now it was beginning to make sense. It was much worse then just a
rape... no wonder Ophelia couldn't have him at Telnor any longer.
She looked at the woman in front of her, "Where did you hear this?"
"My dragon heard it from other dragons."
Waylene knew that if it was going around the dragon population it was only a
matter of time before the entire Warren knew. <Aura tell Koroth to get
Tr'etram back here immediately, we have a problem.>
She looked at Baeta, "I appreciate your information, I will handle it from
here." Baeta nodded and excused herself. "Z'lec I've called Tr'etram back. I
need you to leave."
"Waylene, I can't..."
"You have to. We are going to have a very bad situation on our hands. You
know as well as I do that this information will spread like wildfire. I need
you to field questions while I talk to Tr'etram. I don't want to be
disturbed." Z'lec nodded, knowing that she was correct. He also left the office.

[DL] T'rend
T'rend was giving Grall's hide a good scrubbing in the Lake Lenden when
Grall got the message from Tarranx. <T'rend, Tarranx has just told me that
Chaldecony and his rider are planning to go after wraiths today, with or
without us.>
"What? In this weather?" T'rend groaned at the foolishness of the young rider.
<Tarranx and Sarathain are planning to go after him and keep him safe.>
"Where are they? Tell them I'm right behind them." He said sighing. <Sorry,
dear one, your scrubbing will have to wait.>
He hopped on Grall and flew to join Mukale and Sky.
--Waylene & Aura & Co.
****
NRPG: Lyn: I figured Waylene would call him back immediately to warn him and
see how he would like it to be handled.
Kat: Z'lec may very well come and ask Diana about last night, especially in
regards to this new information he has.
Glory, Mike & Josh: T'rend isn't far behind.
