(DL-M) In defense....

[DL] Waylene

Waylene looked at the man before her wondering what she could do to help him
now. She wondered briefly if she had known the whole truth, would she have
still have allowed him to come? In the end she knew it wouldn't have changed
her choice. But she still had to deal with the aftermath of the awful truth
coming out.

<'Lene, there are dragons asking how we are going to protect their riders
from this man.> Aura called to her.

"Oh dear," she whispered. Tr'etram looked up, but she shook her head. Right
now the dragons were gossiping only half-truths, perhaps it was time for the
whole thing to come out, "I think perhaps you're right. A public meeting
might be our best course. However, I don't think you and I can do it alone."
An idea popped into her head, "We need someone else... someone who knows
more about your history then anyone else."

"R'chein..." said Tr'etram.

Waylene smiled, "Exactly."

<Aura is Grall available to play courier for me?> she called to her queen.
She had lost her courier in the Wraith attack on Marrid, and had not yet
chosen a replacement, instead using whatever dragon happened to be available.

<Grall is on a study flight with some of the new transfers.>

<What!> Waylene fumed, knowing she had asked him to wait for a couple days
before they went anywhere. If anything happened to them... She sighed
turning back to the problem before her. <Call Porthios then.>

<Porthios' rider will be with you shortly,> her dragon informed her.

"I will send D'nar to call for R'chein." She studied his broken face
briefly, "Trey, I'm really sorry that this had to get out. But until things
settle down a little I think it would be best if you stayed in your
apartment." He nodded sadly.

She debated the next question she had for him, but finally her concern won
out over her need to mind her own business, "I don't want to pry in your
personal affairs, so please forgive me for asking, but have you told Diana
the whole story?" Tr'etram raised an eyebrow at her. "Yes, Z'lec told me. I
just... I'm just concerned for her. She's been through so much already,
losing Darrin."

Trey nodded looking down, "I told her."

[DL] Z'lec

Z'lec spotted Diana walking across the green. He immediately headed over to
her. "Diana, I have to speak with you."

"About Malk escaping?" she asked.

He shook his head. "That's the last worry I have right now. I'm more
concerned about you."

"I'm alright, Z'lec. I am coming to terms with Darrin's death. It'll just
take some time."

"Actually I'm speaking of Tr'etram. Do you know why he was sent here?" Z'lec
looked at her waiting for her reaction.

[DL] D'nar

D'nar received Porthios' call to help out the Warrenlady. He turned to
'Cook'. "I have to run an errand for Waylene. I want you to take over, but
remember, take it easy. I want to be able to eat you cooking again soon. I
miss it."

"You run along, D'nar. You're in my way anyhow. And don'tcha be worrying
about me, I can take care've myself."

D'nar chuckled and headed off to Waylene's office. He entered and saw
Tr'etram. He hadn't met the man yet, and only knew that Trey was the former
Wingleader at Telnor, now sent off to Marrid. Nodding to the man, he turned
to Waylene.

"What can I do for you, Waylene?"

"I need you to fly to Telnor with this message." She handed the paper to
D'nar, "It is for R'chein, the healer."

D'nar nodded, "I would be glad to."

Waylene smiled, "Thank you."

D'nar headed out of Waylene's office and out to join Porthios. "We are
playing courier today, is that alright with you?" he asked the large brown
dragon.

<Yes!> said Porthios, for he loved visiting the other warrens and getting
the last gossip from the dragons, <Where are we headed today?>

"Telnor," said D'nar.

<Excellent, I have such gossip to tell them, D'nar. Are you sure you don't
want to hear it?>

"Not at all, my friend. I, unlike you, do not enjoy the gossip and the
rumors. How do you even know that your stories are true?" chuckled D'nar,
climbing on his dragons back. He and Porthios had spoke of dragon gossip
before, and the brown dragon knew better then to bother his rider with such
trivial things. D'nar simply didn't care, and it was no fun telling him.

Porthios snorted in indignation, <My stories are always true...>

The two took off, quickly teleporting for Telnor.

[DL] T'rend

T'rend caught up with the three young riders just outside of Tressa. He was
in shock by what he saw. It was a man tied up to a post. From the look of
it he had been there for quite a several hours.

The three riders looked like they were debating what course of action to
take. <Grall, tell one of those dragons to get down there and untie that
man, now.>

But Shard on Chal was already on his way down. <T'rend, Wraiths are coming.>

<Just wonderful!> he thought sarcastically, <Waylene is going to have my head.>

<Only if there's a head left>

T'rend had to agree, as he saw the small group of wraiths approaching. It
wasn't a large bunch, but they could still be overwhelmed were they not
careful. <Have Tarranx and Sarathain cover Shard while he rescues that man.
Then as soon we have him I want us 'ported back to Marrid.>

T'rend watched as the two dragons took a protective stance in front of
Shard. He then took a spot a short distance to the side and waited for the
wraiths. If all went well, they could have the man to Marrid before they had
to flame any wraiths.

NRPG: Lyn: go ahead and tell Waylene to mind her own business when it comes
to Diana. Kat: go ahead and tell Z'lec to mind his own business when it
comes to Trey. But remember they have only the best intentions... okay,
maybe Z'lec's a little less then best intentions when it comes to Trey.

Josh, Mike & Sky: Do we get the man out in time. I say we take him back to
Marrid for Waylene. She'd like to know about these new methods of
punishment... if that's what it is.
