(DL-M) More meetings

[DL] Waylene

"Diana, you are jumping to conclusions. There will be no banishment, I gave
my promise to Ophelia that we would give him a home here." Waylene told her
resolutely.

"I don't think Z'lec agrees with you." Diana said. Trey looked at the woman
in surprise at her audacity; speaking to the WarrenLady like that.

"Yes, it appears that Z'lec and I do not agree," she said without a wince.
"However, you know that isn't the point. I am WarrenLady."

<Waylene, Grall and his rider are back.>

<Thank you, sweet, tell him to have T'rend meet me in my office.>

****
T'rend and Grall landed on the green, having received the message from Aura.
He climbed off Grall and then turned to the other three riders who were just
climbing off thier dragons. "I think we could work well together, however,
if I cannot count on you to follow directions, we are in some hot water.
Shard, you could have gotten yourself and Chaldecony killed. This is a team
venture, I need to know if you are willing to be a part of this team or not."

He sighed, he really did not like having to chastise other riders. However,
he knew that Waylene was going to hold him responsible as it had been put in
his hands for the time being. "I want to find a way to beat those wraiths,
too. I think studying them is an excellent way to do it, which is way
Waylene asked me to pick at team. I chose the three of you because of your
interest. But we have to do this the right way. Not by running off half cocked."

He nodded his head toward the medical center, "Why don't the three of you go
see what you can find out from our 'guest' while I go face the WarrenLady."

He turned and headed toward Waylene's office.

[DL] Z'lec

Z'lec headed into the dining hall. He saw 'Cook' setting out a few plates of
food. "'Cook'," he said delighted. "Are you up and about already?"

"Of course, Z. Where've ya been, anyway? I've been here doing all the work
by myself, since D'nar run off'n left me."

"Where did he go?"

"Said he had an errand for Waylene."

Z'lec nodded. "I'm just glad you're back in the kitchen, 'Cook'."

"Not that I've been able to get much done here." She motioned to the plates
she had just sat down. "It's not a proper meal, but it'll have to do."

Z'lec nodded and filled a plate. He noticed Minty sitting alone, and went to
take a seat by her. "Hi, do you mind if I sit down," he said. "Araminta, right?"

She nodded, smiling, "Minty... please, have a seat."

"How's David doing?"

[DL] Waylene

She refocused on the two in front of her. "We will discuss this more when
R'chein arrives. In the meantime I think Tr'etram should be in his apartment
for a while."

"You're restricting him to his apartments?" asked Diana.

"No, it is not a restriction, it is simply a suggestion. Right now rumors
are flying and they are not telling the whole truth. Tr'etram has not had a
chance to tell his story yet." She looked at the man, " Trey, it really is
up to you what you do, but as we have seen already today, tempers are
running high. I do not want to have to deal with any fights on top of all this."

There was a knock at the door.

"Come in." Waylene called. T'rend opened the door and walk in his face full
of chagrin. "Have a seat T'rend." She turned back to Diana and Trey, "If
there is anything else, we can discuss it later."

They stood knowing she had dismissed them. When they had left she turned to
T'rend, "So are you going to tell me what happened, and why you went out
even after I told you to wait."

T'rend looked up at her, "I'm sorry, Waylene, things got a little out of hand."

"T'rend, I asked you to wait because we just fought wraiths yesterday. There
were several injuries and the riders need to rest. Not to mention the dragon
who are probably still exhausted."

T'rend nodded, "I know, it won't happen again. Though we did find something
interesting outside of Tressa." Waylene waited for him to tell her, but he
could see the interest in her eyes. "We found a man chained to a post. He
had been left for the wraiths to get. I don't know if it was a punishment or
what. We did rescue him and he's in the medical building."

Waylene eyes showed her surprise at this new development. "Let me know what
he says. I would definitely be interesting in the reason behind this."
T'rend stood, "That doesn't excuse what happened though."

"I know." He turned and left the office.

<Aura, tell Fiera, I'm ready to see Carie now>

She sat waited for the girl to arrive. She had decided that she and Carie
needed to have a chat. She was still trying to allow Arri to have some room
after her outburst yesterday. Waylene wanted to comfort the girl, to assure
her that there was more to being a queenrider then breeding. But in the
meantime there had been so much to do. She promised herself she would see
Arri after she spoke with Carie.

When the girl finally entered she took a seat and waited to see what Waylene
needed of her now.

"Carie, I am aware that you are not happy in the role of queenrider as it
has thus far been defined. I do not have any experience with this as I fell
quite happily into the role, as did... Keanne." She felt her voice crack as
she mentioned the dead queenriders name, but didn't allow herself to falter
more then that. "I want you to be happy here as well. I'm hoping we can find
some compromise that can make both of us happy.

NRPG: Lyn & Kat, feel free to add anything you need within the slim freedom
I've given you. I apologize for that, but wanted to continue on with the
other story as well.

Les, here's a lunch companion... though if you ask him about Trey, he'll
grumble a lot<G>

Mike, Glory & Josh, what can you tell us about the man in the field.

Chris, here is your chance to have Carie tell Waylene what she really wants.
However, I can guarantee that she will not allow Carie to be a combat rider,
but I'm willing to take suggestions for her happiness. As far as Raynod
helping Fiera... I think Z'lec would have fit, but Raynod definitely has his
own mind <G>
