(DL-M) Surprises and Questions...

David was still in a stupor when the healer had told him and Minty that
they were going to be parents, and that she was already four months along
in the pregnancy. David looked at his love and kissed her lightly.

"I guess it happened a little while after Kirimiths mating flight." He
said, not really a question. Minty looked like she was going to be sick,
and David motioned for her to lay down with him. He held her in his arms
as she cried, her fear pouring out in salty tears. He was nervous
himself, but didn't show it. He had kept many things from his mate so as
not to worry her. The dreams, his feelings of both elation and unknowing
about the baby, and all for the better. Hopefully things would be back
to normal soon.

Minty seemed to fall asleep after her cry, the exhaustion that she had
known over the past week catching up on her, and as her muscles relaxed
with dreams, David sat awake reminicing about the day.

Many people had come to see him while he was in the medical center, even
though D'sarrian had been very picky about how long each of them could
stay. Tr'etram had come first, to say hi. David had heared about what
he had done, and wished he could be at the meeting to find out the causes
behind it. However bad it looked, he didn't think Trey could willingly
do that, and wanted to defend his friend should trouble arrive. Alas, he
was stuck here and couldn't move. His shoulder had begun to heal rapidly
now, if only the dreams, which were coming while he was awake now, would
pass.

Trey had left after a while and was replaced by Shard. They talked, and
David really wanted to get out of bed and practise some sword play. Too
long laying down, and it would take weeks to recover the lost agility and
speed. They talked, and the young man had retrieved a chess board and
they began to play. David loved the game and had played it often with
his father, and was winning, barely. Shard was an exceptional opponent.

But soon D'sarrian had shooed him out and Minty lay down next to him. A
slightly busy day, and he could feel his own body running down towards
sleep. He hoped his shoulder would feel better when he woke up...

David's eyes closed and he started to dream, and all hell broke loose.
The speed of the inages went faster and faster, the feelings running
rampant inside his brain. He lost all control.

Minty woke up with a start as David's muscles started to strain, his face
waxy and covered with a sheen of sweat. She watched only for a second
and called for D'sarrian.

"D'sarrian, He's starting again!!" She cried out in fear as David opened
his eyes and looked at her. There was nothing in them, no soul or
feelings. They looked like the eyes of the dead. He started to get up,
his body almost mechanical. The healer ran in and saw David's form get
up, his muscles flexed as though all the neurons in his brain had fired
at once.

"There will be no more dreams..." The man who looked like David said.
The voice was different, darker. Minty looked at him with shock, not
believeing her love could act this way. He started to move towards the
door. Minty cried out.

"David, no!" And ran over to embrace him. David sprung like a cat, his
hands gripping her shoulders with an un-natural strength. He looked into
her eyes closely. D'sarrian took the chance, and shot David up with a
sedative he had prepared for such an emergency. The man whirled around
and grabbed the healer after feeling the needle, tossing him across the
room as if he weighed nothing, leaving Minty to crumble to the floor.
Within a few steps, David collapsed.

C'tain ran in and helped D'sarrian to his feet and then David to his
bed. Minty had crawled up against the wall, frightened beyond belief.
They strapped his hands nd feet, making sure he couldn't escape, and
D'ssarian ran to get A'rillia. C'tain knelt next to Minty, snapping her
out of her daze. "That wasn't David. We're getting help now..." He
said, and held the sobbing young woman. Something had to be done, but he
didn't know what he could say to make Minty feel better.

It took a while, David lapseing into an unconscious state, yet not trying
to get up again. Some people had heard what was happening and were in the
room asking questions. Minty sat in a chair, being consoled by
a few, looking half dead as it was. C'tain was doing all he could to
quiet the people and look after David and Minty while answering as many
questions as he could. Soon Arri came into the room....

After quieting the people down, she laid down her rules and had everyody
leave untill all there was left was Minty, C'tain, and D'sarrian. She
had calmed Minty down, and turned her attention to David.

"David Blademaster
 Child of Woman
 Long ago born
 I thee would speak with
 Here in the place
From which thy soul has been torn..."

A'rillia repeated a few times, her mind reaching out for David's. David,
without opening his eyes, spoke in a language Minty or the healers had
never heard.

<NRPG: The text bracketed in {} is spoken in the old tounge>
RP:

{What do you ask?} David said, his tounge working fast in the old
speech. Arri was taken aback, but only for a second.

{To heal your mind, you must let me in. Will you?} She said, the people
in the room now looking at her, confused even more to know that Arri
understood the words.

{Enter, but know it is your choice...} David said, and his face grew
taught as his mind now reached out and engulfed Arri's, pulling her into
what lurked inside....
