(DL-M) Some good news

[DL] Waylene

Waylene nodded her approval at the Mukale's words. Everyone quietly filed
out of the great hall. The moved so as not to disturb the father and
daughter as they sobbed. Waylene left also, wanting to talk to Z'lec.

<Waylene, Fiera has returned.> came the dragon's hesitant call.

<What's wrong, Aura.> asked Waylene, instantly aware of the tension in her
dragon.

<The DragonLady has been injured. Her courier was murdered and there have
been several poisoning. They could use some healers.>

Waylene sighed. <There's no way we can spare either of ours right now, and
according to Z'lec Arri is helping with David right now. If only Garrth and
Rebba hadn't been killed during the Wraith attack on Marrid, we could have
helped.> She thought for a moment, <Send Porthios to Keldarra to see if
there is anything else we can do.>

<He says they will be happy to go.> Aura told her. Waylene smiled, she knew
that any chance D'nar had to go to Keldarra, he would jump on. Aura
continued, <There's more. It isn't bad news, though Fiera is a bit flustered.>

<Tell me, Aura.>

<Fiera is pregnant.>

<She flew? That's wonderful!> Then remembering that something had upset her,
Waylene asked, <Why is she so flustered?>

<Carie is upset with her. Paranth flew Fiera, and Paranth's rider is Michel,
Carie's brother.>

Waylene gasped, "Oh, dear".

<I tried to explain to her that such things upset humans. But it is hard to
explain to her when I do not fully understand your reservations myself.>

<I know you don't, sweet. Meet me outside I want to go see Carie.>

Waylene hurried out of her office. Aura was already waiting for her.
Climbing on her dragon she flew to Carie's apartment. She felt the same
dread she had felt the last time she flew there. It was a constant reminder
of Keanne and Larrith. But now Fiera was going to clutch, this was a very
positive sign for the Warren. Something they needed right now more then
anything.

She slid of Aura as Aura settled on the ledge. "Carie.." Waylene called into
the dark room.

"Go away." sobbed the girl.

"Carie.." Waylene said walking toward her, "I..." She paused not quite
knowing what to say. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

"No." came the reply.

"Please, let me help." Waylene said.

"I can't... not now... I need to be alone."

"I understand. But please, if I can help, let me." Waylene turned and left,
wishing she could do more.

Aura glided down to the green as Waylene spotted Z'lec talking to Mukale.
She waited until they were done and approached him. "Thank you."

He frowned slightly, "Did it help?"

"For a while." she said. "But Tr'etram knew you did it for me rather then
for him. He told everyone that despite your words, you didn't trust him."

"Well, that's true enough. I'm not sure I appreciate him saying it though."

"He's a very honest man, Z'lec. You can't deny it." Z'lec frowned at her
words, but didn't respond. Waylene continued, "There is some good news though."

"What's that."

"Fiera will be clutching soon. She flew at Keldarra. This Warren could use a
good hatching." Z'lec nodded, his mind not fully on what she was saying. "Of
course, Carie isn't happy. Her brother's dragon flew Fiera."

"What?"

Waylene nodded. "She won't even speak to me, she's so upset."

NRPG: Chris, take your time. Carie can call on Waylene anytime :)

All, I'm sure word of Fiera's pregnancy will spread quickly.
