(DL-M) Touth's requests

[DL] Waylene

Z'lec headed off toward the medical center. He had told Waylene a little
about what was going on with David. But he didn't really know either. He did
however, want to keep an eye on the man they had brought in and an ear out
for how David was doing.

Waylene watched him go. It tore her up to see him so bothered by all this.
While she understood his feelings, she knew that he needed to put them aside
in order to work with Tr'etram. Sighing she turned to go back to her
apartment. She was worn out and needed a rest.

<Waylene, Fiera is bringing Carie to see you.> Aura called as she was lying
down.

Waylene smiled softly, "Thank goodness." She had known how upset the girl
was and really wanted to be able to do something to help her. She stood up
and went into the main chamber to await the junior queenrider.

It was only a few minutes before Waylene heard the girls hesitant call.
"Waylene?"

"Yes, Carie, Aura told me you were coming." The Warrenlady paused. "Are you
feeling better?" She asked awkwardly

Carie nodded. "Yes, a little. though, I'd feel much better if I could
explain just why I'm upset to Fiera."

Waylene nodded, fully understanding the difficulty of explaining Human views
to Dragons. "It's not easy. Dragon love is so simple. Not complicated like
human love. I suppose it would be nice for love to be that open and honest."

When Carie didn't answer, Waylene continued, "I realize that this wasn't an
ideal situation for Fiera's first flight and I'm really sorry. However, I
think this is exactly what the Warren needs."

Carie nodded. "Fiera tells me that some are sad, because this reminds them
of Keanne and Larrith.

Waylene's eyes clouded, and she nodded. "Yes, Larrith teleported before she
could lay her eggs. So the loss was more then just our junior queen and her
rider. Do you see now why everyone is so protective of queens. Particularly
after what happened to Larrith. And Keanne was very protective of Larrith.
They never did anything that might put them in harms way.

"But it wasn't enough." Waylene sat down, motioning to a seat for Carie.

Carie sat down, "You can't protect them all the time. I think Keanne and
Larrith prove that."

"You're right. I did promise to let you train with the wing. However, in a
little over a week, Fiera will lay her eggs, and she won't be able to leave
the hatching grounds to do much more then eat." Carie nodded. Waylene could
see the disappointment in her face. "Perhaps, though, once the eggs hatch,
Fiera would like to train with her children."

****
Waylene and Carie had talked for quite a while. But once they parted,
Waylene made her way down to her office. It was just beginning to get dark
and she felt like there were things she should attend to before she retired
for the night.

D'nar had not returned yet. Though she really didn't expect him until the
next day, unless there was an urgent need for Keldarra. She knew he would
spend time with his daughter.

Z'lec also had not left the medical building. She would have liked to go
over there and find out how things were going, but knew that she would only
be in the way. So she sat at her desk and began her paperwork.

There was a knock at the door. "Come in," she called.

She was surprised to see Touth walk in, "Waylene, it is Touth. Yenal and I
have a few things we'd like to discuss with you about our standing with the
Warren."

"Touth?" she said a grin spreading across her face. "Oh, Touth!" She stood
and gave the man a hug. She couldn't believe he was still alive. She had
been so sure that he and Yenal were leaving the Warren to go where they
could 'port without causing grief to the warren's dragons.

He pushed her away with a gentle smile. "You didn't give up on me that easy
did you?"

Waylene blushed, "I suppose I did."

"No, m'lady. Yenal and I, well, we worked it out."

"You and Yenal have bonded?" she asked in surprise.

Touth shook his head. "No, not like that. It's kind of hard to explain, I
guess. It's more of an understanding. You know, Yenal doesn't like to admit
how much it hurt when his bond with Malk broke. But he might have 'ported. I
think we both thought of it while we were out there flying. But we both
still have a lot to offer Marrid."

"What do you want, Touth. You know I'd do anything for you."

"We want to play our part here. Yenal and I have become a team. We want an
apartment and a chance to help out."

"Of course," Waylene paused for a moment, then hesitantly, "Touth, do you
want to choose a new apartment, or do you want the one you had before... we
haven't done anything with it yet... I just..."

Touth shook his head, "No, not that one. We'll pick a new one."

Waylene nodded and Touth continued, "I won't keep you. We'll talk more in
the morning, when you can talk to Yenal also." Seeing the confusion in
Waylene face he continued, "See, I don't always feel what Yenal feels... Not
like with Rocos. Sure I can talk to him and he to me, but it's not the same.
I really can't speak for him."

Waylene nodded, still not quite understanding this unique relationship that
Touth and Yenal had formed.

NRPG: Chris, hope this is all okay :)

Justin, Z'lec will be in the medical center to check on you. I wasn't clear
on what was going on timewise in there. But feel free to include him
checking up on you and Minty, etc. That way I won't mess anything up. BTW,
I love the story you three have put together.

Mike, Things have been moving, so I guess you'll be going in the morning, is
that okay :) T'rend is still up to going, if no one else is...

Glory, Are you still with us...
