(DL-M) Dining and Discussion

Scene: Marrid, Courtyard Outside Medical Center
Time: Early Afternoon

     ^Hey, Scales? You awake?^

^I am now.^ grumped the sleepy Tarranx.

^Could you contact Sarathain, and ask if Sky wants to take a
trip up to Tressa?^

     ^Just a minute, M'kale.^ replied the dragon. ^Sarathain said
that his rider is busy at the moment. Perhaps we might invite
Grall and his rider?^

Mukale shrugged. ^It doesn't matter. By the time I can get
some new clothes, it's probably going to be too late to make the
trip today.^ So saying, he headed toward the store rooms.

Scene: Dining Hall
Time: Morning

Mukale was glad to see that Trey had been able to make it
down to the Dining Hall this morning. He thought it would have
been a shame if the Dragonrider had not wanted to be part of the
warren life. But from the serious discussion he seemed to be
having with Diana, it seemed like he had not lost interest in
life after all.

Spotting T'rend at a table to one side of the Hall,
Tarranx's rider headed in that direction. "Hi T'rend! Can I sit
here?"

The older rider smiled and waved at the opposite bench.
"Hello M'kale." He chuckled as the young man winced. "Get used
to it, lad. If your Tarranx is going to call you M'kale, pretty
soon all the other Dragons -- and by implication, all the other
Dragonriders -- will be calling you M'kale soon enough." He
examined the young Dragonrider more closely. "I like your new
outfit."

Mukale put his tray down on the table and took a moment to
examine his new clothing. He now wore supple grey leather pants,
and a matching vest and low boots. Under the vest was a long
sleeved maroon shirt. Both matched Tarranx in color. "They are
nice, aren't they? I suppose I'll learn to like it, but I've
been Mukale for sixteen years, and its hard to think of myself as
anything else."

"You'll get used to it." assured T'rend. "Grall tells me
that you are going up to Tressa today."

Mukale nodded and sat down. "Z'lec asked if I could go up
and talk with Lord Uthna about the man we found the other day.
He suggested I get these cloths... not this particular outfit...
that's my idea... Just that I get new clothes first."

T'rend nodded sagely. "And well that you did. Uthna isn't
one to be impressed by a country bumpkin, even if he is riding a
Dragon. No, don't get mad. I know you were an honest trader,
but that's they way that he'd see it."

Mukale settled back into his seat. "Sorry T'rend, I didn't
mean to get angry." He stuffed a spoonful of porridge into his
mouth before continuing. "Anyway, I was going to invite Sky to
go with me, but yesterday she was too busy to talk, and this
morning I haven't seen her."

The older man chuckled mildly. "And a right pretty sight
she is, if I recall." As Mukale blushed, he laughed more loudly.
"Oh, your secret's safe with me, lad. I haven't seen her either
today. Has Tarranx called Sarathain?"

The boy nodded. "She's too busy to talk. I need to get
going on this trip, but I didn't want to go off on my own. I was
wondering... Could you come along?"

Still chuckling slightly, T'rend nodded. "No problem. I've
nothing special to do today. And we still need to consider how
we will go about our special Wraith patrols."

Faithfully Submitted,

Mukale and Tarranx

NRPG: Glory - If Sky is going to go, she'll have to catch up at
the last minute.
