Diana thought back & sadly recalled the conversations Darrin & her had 
had about children. They had both wanted them so badly & now.....

Diana looked at Trey. "Trey, how do you feel about having more children?"

He looked at her & raised his eyebrow. "Hmmmmm....hadn't really thought 
much about it...Can I get back to you on that?"

She looked up at him. "Of course...but I do want you to think about it. I 
think that I will eventually want children. I don't want that to cause us 
any problems."

Trey pulled her close. "It won't."

Diana went with Trey to visit David & Minty. Minty had been a good friend 
to her since she had been there & she was very sorry to hear about the 
troubles both of them had had since arriving. She then headed with Trey 
to the green for training. Things seemed to go well & people started to 
fit into Z'lec's formations. It seemed as though the transition would run 
smoothly.

> "We'll be reorganising and adding the new riders into our patrol schedule 
> soon.  All of you consider who you'd like to be paired with and turn your

Diana knew she wanted to be paired with someone different than Trey. She 
didn'tthink she could keep her mind where it should be on patrol if she 
was with him. It had been the same way with Darrin. They had originally 
been partenered together but once they had become more than friends they 
had approached Z'lec with the request to be paired with different people.

> Z'lec continued.  "I will be announcing my choice of a new Wingsecond as 
> soon as I have observed everyone enough to decide on one.  I *do* *not* want 
> anyone proposing themselves or anyone else for the position.  I'll make my

Z'lec dismissed them & Diana busied herself with Zena, talking to her 
until she could get some time to talk with Z'lec. She was slightly 
surprised to see Trey approach Z'lec & waited on edge.

After the two men spoke for a few minutes Trey turned back to Diana & 
looked at her slightly questioningly.

(Zena, tell Koroth to tell Trey that I need to speak with Z'lec for a few 
minutes & I will meet him at the dining hall for lunch in a little bit)

Diana then approached Z'lec.

"Z'lec?" She said questioningly "May I talk to you for a few minutes?"

"If it's about Tr'tram, he's already requested that you two not be 
assigned together as patrol partners" Z'lec said.

Diana looked at him. "You know thats how I prefer it too" she said. "No, 
the only request I have is that we be on the same patrol schedule so that 
our hours don't conflict too much"

"Diana! Why are you letting him do thid to you? Taking advantage of..." 
Z'lec started

"Z'lec" Diana interrupted "Though this is really none of your concern I 
know you are just worried about me. Isn't it enough for you to know that 
he makes me happy? Give him a chance."

"But Diana, Darrin was my friend" Z'lec said "I don't believe he would 
want you to get involved with someone like him"

"Z'lec, what Darrin would want is for me to be happy & not spend the rest 
of my life grieving for him. I know that it's sudden but you grab 
happiness when you can" Diana said, & sadly added "because you never know 
when it will be taken from you." She then shook her head & looked up at him.
"Besides Z'lec, I have always considered you MY friend also, won't you 
support me & be glad that I am happy?"

Trey pulled her close. "I am glad I found you. You are very special to me"
He then kissed her. "Come on, lets go pack"

"Why don't you go gather the stuff at your place & then meet me at mine, 
since I will have more to pack" Diana suggested

"Good idea" Trey said "Just one thing, where IS your place?"

Diana laughed & explained where it was & Zena gave Koroth a picture of it.

They both then mounted their dragons & headed off for their old apartments.

Diana began to gather things together. Most of the stuff in the icebox 
was thrown away because since Darrin's death she hadn't been thinking of 
such things. She then began to gather clothes & other items she wished to 
take with her. As she sorted through the apartment she finally came 
across the box in which she had stored Darrin's things. She slowly sank 
to the floor in front of it & paused for a moment before opening it.

Inside were mostly his clothes & a few personal things. she slowly began 
to sort throught them, deciding that most should either be thown away or 
given away....no, thrown away she decided. She couldn't bear the thought 
of seeing someone else in the warren wearing Darrin's clothes. She pulled 
out one of his favorite shirts & pressed it close to her.

"Oh Darrin, I miss you" Diana sobbed "I know you would be happy for me, 
but part of me feels guilty for moving on so quickly"
She sat there & sobbed her heart out & tears soaked the shirt. She didn't 
even hear Koroth land & Trey come up behind her, until she felt his arms 
around her, holding her, cradling her.

"Shhhhh, Diana" Trey said, brushing her tears away gently "It will be 
alright, I am here" He held her & rocked her.

She looked up at him with a tear stained face. "I miss him, Trey. He was 
my best friend as well as my lover"

"I understand, & I wish I could help" Trey said, holding her close.

"Oh Trey, I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have you. A part of me 
feels guilty for being happy with Darrin dead, but I also know darrin 
would want me to go on" Diana said, feeling very safe & secure in Trey's 
arms.

"Diana..." Trey said "I just wish I could make all the hurt go away."

"You have eased it so much, Trey. I love you" Diana softly said.

Diana & Trey pulled themselves together & Diana put most of Darrins 
things back in the box & took them out to the ledge where Zena was.

(Please flame this box, Zena)

Zena did so promptly as Diana stood there with Trey & watched most of 
Darrin's belongings go up in smoke. She took the few things she had kept 
& packed them in a bag. She then turned towards Trey "Can you finish the 
kitchen & I will go work on the few things left in the bedroom?" Trey 
nodded & headed that direction after giving her a quick kiss.

Diana entered the bedroom & gathered some of her clothes she had strewn 
around. She then went to the bathroom to gether her stuff in there. She 
reached for her toothbrush & stuff when her eyes spotted the bottle of 
pale amber liquid sitting there. "Oh no" she thought & reached for it. 
She slowly walked back into the bedroom & sat down on the bed, staring at 
the liquid. She thought back. The day before the attack....no, she'd 
forgotten to take it then....it slowly dawned on her that she had not 
taken the birth control medicine since at least one or two days before 
the attack. She had never been good about remembering & Darrin had always 
had to remind her. She glanced towards the kitchen where she heard Trey 
still packing up stuff. Should she say anything? Had he noticed she 
hadn't been taking anything? It had been a week now & the healers had 
always said not to take it if you had forgotten that long, because if you 
were pregannt it would hurt the baby. Also, she remembered them saying if 
you forgot to take it for more than 4 days, your bleeding would start, 
unless......"Oh no" she gasped & her eyes widened.

"What's wrong?" Trey asked as he entered the room "& what's that?" 
pointing at the bottle in her hands.

brief but you can play it out, if you want

All: as Lyn said, pleanty of time during the day for 
interactions...although I do think there are one or two of you who will 
be gone to Tressa sometime after breakfast :)
