"Why are you in the chair and me in the bed?"  she asked him, puzzled by the
strain on his face and the sadness in his eyes.

David looked away from Minty, not wanting to explain what had happened.  

*You must tell her sometime.* Kaylin said, his thoughts caressing his 
riders nerve.  David let out a deep breath, and began to recount the 
story, from the time he woke up to the present, leaving out the part of 
the miscarriage.

Minty took his hand in hers and looked at him.  "You're not telling me 
all of it." She said, "Please, what is it?"

A few tears ran down David's face as he tried to find the strength to tell 
his mate the news.  As she caressed his face, he steeled himself.

"Minty, we lost the child.  You..." He tried not to lose his composure. 
"You had a miscarriage." He held Minty softly, wanting to be there for 
anything she needed...
