[DL-M] Sizing each other up

Diana stood awkwardly looking at B'rin. She then held out her hand.
"Hello, B'rin, good to meet you." As he shook her hand she continued "I
hope everything is alright at home." She looked at Trey as she asked this.
"Everything is fine" Trey assured her. "B'rin just wanted to come visit."
Diana nodded, but saw the look pass between them. This was obviously
between them.
She stretched, her back obviously hurting from being dragonback for
awhile. "Can we go back to the apartment and maybe have dinner? I would
like to get to know you a little better, B'rin, that is if you have time."
B'rin seemed to hesitate, then nodded. "I don't have to be back until later."
They climbed aboard their respective dragons and headed for the
apartment. They landed and Trey came over to help Diana down from Zena.
Diana felt B'rin's eyes on them.
Diana let go off Trey as soon as he got her to the ground, slightly
awkward around B'rin. She wanted him to like her, or at least not dislike
her.
"I need to go get cleaned up. Been flying patrol there at the Cavern for
awhile today." When Trey looked at her questioningly, Diana explained
"One of the other riders was ill, so I stayed in the air a little longer
each time, before breaking to help make up for it."
Trey frowned at that idea slightly "You know you are supposed to be on
short patrols, the babies..."
Diana interrupted "are fine." She smiled at him then looked at B'rin.
"Your father is a worrier. I'll be back in a few moments." She walked out
of the room rubbing her back.
Trey and B'rin headed for the kitchen beginning to gather things together
to make a simple meal. Trey remember back to when B'rin had done this at
home, and was glad that he had come to see him.
Suddenly from the doorway, Trey heard Diana. "Trey?" she gasped.
Trey quickly turned around and Diana stood there in the doorway, her face
contorted in pain and grasping her abdomen.
"Diana!" Trey rushed to her side, dropping the bowl that he had been
holding, pasta falling to the floor.
Diana straightened up slightly and looked at Trey with a lopsided
grimace. "I think its time."
