[DL-M]: Lost in Space!

Waylene held on to Kendal as they made their way through the tunnels. She
could feel him putting more and more weight on her. He was getting
weaker. Kendal kept insisting he was ok, but she knew otherwise. If she
left it up to him, he'd have both arms and legs cut off and still say he's
ok.
The tunnels were dark and small, turns left and right around every
corner. One could get lost down here for days or weeks on end. It was a
good think Waylene knew where and how to get to where they were going.
"Come on Kendal, we're almost there. Just around that corner we
should be able to..."
"STOP!" Three guards who looked weary and lost had yelled out
from behind them. Slowly Waylene and Kendal turned. Walene cursed under
her breath for having encountered them now.
"Where are you two going."
"He needs help, I have to get him to the med center."
"That dragon lover can rot for all I care."
Kendal let his body go limp. Waylene struggled to hold him up.
Things looked desperate for them. As Kendal seemed unconscious.
"Wait a minute, aren't you..."
One guard walked up close to get a better look at her.
"You're the woman in charge here." The soldier grabbed her arm
and Waylene yelled out.
"Let go of me."
"Look at what we've got men."
"How about a dagger in the side, wretch!" Kendal came to life.
He moved in close, pulling out his dagger and ramming in deep into the
man's side. He made no sound as he crumpled to the floor. The other two
pulled their swords out and moved in slowly on Kendal.
"Waylene, get behind me."
Kendal pulled his blade out, he stood his ground as they
approached. Waylene couldn't tell if Kendal had simply stood there to
protect her or simply because he needed all his strength to just simply
stand.
The two soon cried out in a battle roar and charged Kendal. The
first ran straight at him, recieving a blade in the stomache for his
troubles. The man's forward momentum knocked Kendal to the ground, his
body weight more than Kendal's weakened state could push off.
The last soldier dashed toward Waylene. His intent loud and
clear. She was going to die and with her death this warren would be
theirs. Kendal looked on, there was nothing he could do. He had
exhausted any strength he might have had left. all he could do was watch.
Suddenly from the shadows Z'lec dove out at the man. Z'lec
tackled the soldier to the ground. Slamming the mans head into the
ground several times. Z'lec's punches maiming the soldier's face.
When Z'lec was through and his anger spent he stood in a bloody
mess, looking on at a horrified Waylene. By now Kendal was able to push
off the dead soldiers body and slowly pull himself to his feet. He
clutched on to his side to place pressure back on his bleeding wound.

Was that what you were expecting Kris, sort of, maybe. :)

The World has no room for cowards.
We must all be ready to toil, to suffer, to die.
And yours is not less noble because no drum beats before you
when you go out into your daily battlefields.
And no crowds shout about your coming when you return
from your daily victory or defeat.
