Traknor
***
It was turning out to be a very long day for Trak, first wraiths then the
fact that he needed healers out here to transport the injured back to the
Warren... One more reason they should all be combat trained he thought to
himself. He was very happy when Koda and the others finally got to here, he
had may injured riders and dragons alike and they needed a healers touch.
Most of their wounds had had some basic first aid that every combat rider
knows applied but some of the wounds were far to advanced for that
knowledge. Trak and Mayhem were at the forefront of the battle dealing
death when the message that Koda was here got to him. They broke off from
combat and headed towards Koda and another person unknown to him. "About
time you got here."
>"This is Kalewyn of Telnor Warren," she told him. "He and his dragon
Sabbith have offered to help us >transport the injured back to Marrid."
>
>Trak nodded his head towards the boy in offer of thanks. Right now he'd
take any help her could get. >"I've got to get back .. See to Barte first.
He's bad off."
>
>She went to work immediately, calling out orders and directing the few
healers she'd been able to >spare from the med center, to look after the
injured riders
As Mayhem leapt into the sky he watched as Koda leapt into the fray of it
all, giving the orders and doing triage as she went along. He hated to
have people die under his command. He knew it was a dream that no one would
ever die under his command.... But still it would be wonderful to leave to
a battle and come back with all his riders and their dragons intact. Of
course that would have to wait to another day. He was still very proud of
the way Koda was handling things... She knew her job and how to do it.
He was headed towards Koda to inform her of the Warren situation and that
she would have to make camp and tend to all the riders at their present
location. They would have to stay here and be taken care of, at a site that
wasn't very conducive to healing. He'd wanted to leave may guards to
protect these injured and their caretakers, but it appeared the fate was
against him again... He knew he couldn't leave more that a couple riders
here to guard and they would end up being the least of the injured as it was.
>Very soon we're going to start transporting those to hurt to fly back to
Marrid," she started to say but >Trak moved in front of her stopping her
from going on.
>
>"I'm afraid we can't do that right now," he told her in a tone only she
could hear. "There's been a >problem at the Warren that I was just informed
of."
>
>He turned his head slightly and she saw Rainy's rider standing there next
to the dragon with hands >stuffed deep into the pockets of the flight
jacket they wore.
>
>"What kind of problem?" she asked suddenly uneasy.
>
>"It appears some of the Landbound Nobles have taken it into their heads to
attack the Warren just after >the wings left to go after the Wraiths," he
told her not wanting to tell her the rest, but knowing he had >to.
>
>"They've forced their way into the med center and taken the few people
there who didn't escape out the >back as hostages."
>
>"Waylene??" her eyes opening wide with shock.
>
>"Last Rainy heard she was hold up in the dining hall with a few others.
But you and I both know how >she can be."
>
>The look on his face said more to her then the tone he tried to set forth
in the timber of his voice. For >the first time Koda took a really good
look at him and suddenly knew he cared deeply for the >Warrenlady.
>
>Just as she cared for a certain healer who she knew would be in the thick
of things back in Marrid. >C'tain would likely be one of those hostages
being held in the med center, for she knew he would >never leave the hall
with injured people who were in need of his help.
>
>She said a silent prayer that he would be all right, then turned back to
the crowd before her and started >shouting orders to set up a temporary
camp for now.
>
>"I have to take the wing back to help the Warren," Trak told her minutes
later Evan as he was giving the >orders. "I can't leave more that three
dragons here to protect you without cutting the wing to short. But >you've
Ribbon and that red if he'll help and Talitha with Prisma. There's plenty
of rock around you and >your in a good defensible location so it shouldn't
take any more dragons to watch things here."
After going over the remaining riders and being only able to leave three as
guards bothered him greatly especially if anything should happen. He took
the rest of the wing and ported back to the Warren only to find it in total
chaos. The Warren was under attack by some Landbound Noble. Trak quickly
looked around at what was going on, divided what was left of the Wing into
two groups... One to distract the other to attack and kill.
With the first group distracting the archers,Trak yelled the order,"
Attack!" As they dove toward the cliffs spewing flames. While watching the
surviving troops make a hasty retreat from the cliffs, Trak caught a
flaming streak out of the corner of his eye, turning his head quickly to
follow it's flight path. He watched in horror as it hit the side of one of
his dragonrider's dragon and explode in fire and blood. He lost sight of
the rider in the blast. <My rider, Driel is lost to us,> Mayhem informed him.
"Everyone pull back fer the moment and I mean everyone. Now!" Trak yelled
out. <Mayhem let the other dragons know of my order also please.>
As they all reluctantly pulled back it a safer area, namely out of bow
shot. Trak began to give new orders on what they had to handle next when
there was a report of wraiths that were now attacking the Landbound outside
the Warren. Initial reports were that the wraiths were not attacking the
dragons, even when attack by a dragon, just the humans were being attacked.
Trak thought on this for a few moments before clearing his throat and
beginning,"As reported wraiths are now attacking the Landbound outside of
the Warren. There are some Riders out there now attacking the wraiths and
finding that the wraiths are not attack dragons at this time. It appears
that these wraiths that are attacking will break the Noble's men and
hopefully drive them from Marrid. Bear in mind these are the same men who
came into our home, killed our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers. Even
after we have defended their home... yet they do this to us... So I ask ye
all to think on this question afore ye answer it. Do you wish to attack the
wraiths and keep up our past of the Treaty that we have with the Landbound?
I leave the decision up to you all." Trak looked around at all the tired
and wore out riders that was left of his Wing and was grateful that he
didn't have to wait to long when someone from the rear shouted, " Let's
show em the true meaning of honor!"
Trak again gave the order and under his watchful eye the Wing began to
attack and decimate the wraiths. Trak and Mayhem were helping out a newer
rider against a wraith that was occupied with a terrified group of soldiers
when Mayhem informed him of the Nobles defeat and that his son was now in
command of the army and was calling off his troops. Trak let the new rider
finish her attack and watched as she and her dragon worked together in
flaming the moving wraith without ever endangering the group of soldiers.
When she was finished with her run he saluted her, told her to join with
another experience rider and continue on. He kept an eye on her till she
joined up with one of his captains before heading to where the Noble's son
was at. He wanted to get there before the man left the Warren.
Mayhem landed infront and a ways back from the man dressed in armor a few
minutes later before he could leave the Warren. Trak leaped from his saddle
and proceeded towards the man. He extended his hand in greeting and
introduced himself, "I'm Traknor Meridian. I'm the Wingleader for the
Warren here."
"I am Tristan, the new Lord of Northelm," he replied taking Trak's hand in
greeting.
"Tis nice to be meeting ye but you need to stop yer men from leaving the
Warren fer the moment, milord. Yer men outside are under attack by wraiths.
The rest of my Wing is outside, along with a few other riders, attending to
the matter as we speak. We not sure how much longer the attack will go on,
but we are doing our best to kill the wraiths and not yer men. It appears
the wraiths are just attacking yer men and not our dragons at this time."
Trak told him.
