Tristan Cholet wiped sweat from his brow, and continued to see to the
evacuation of his troops from the warren. As he was talking with a
soldier, a large shadow crossed over him, and he looked up. A dragon was
landing a few paces away, the rider looking intent on speaking
with him. After dismounting, Tristan dismissed the soldier and watched as
the young man walked towards him.

>"I'm Traknor Meridian. I'm the Wingleader for the Warren here." The man
>said, holding his hand out.

>"I am Tristan, the new Lord of Northelm," he replied taking Trak's hand
>in greeting.

The wingleader relayed the report about wraiths being outside of the
warren, and how they couldn't leave yet.

"How much longer until we can depart?" Tristan asked.

"I'm can'nt be sure, m'lord. Our riders are doing everything they can."

The new lord nodded, and called over some of his men. "There is a change
of plans..."

> She saw Traknor turn in her direction, drawing the young
> lord's attention to her. The young man moved out and bowed to her as she
> drew near.

> "M' lady Waylene, It is an honor to meet you." Tristan said. "I am
sorry for what has happened today..."

"You did all that you could." Waylene said, "In fact, we of Marrid are
grateful that you took control when you did."

"It was my duty, m'lady."

Waylene nodded, "You are Lord Cholet's son, am I correct?"

The young lord nodded, hurt running across his eyes. "Yes, m'lady."

"I am sorry about your father. If there is anything we can do..."

Tristan shook his head. "Please, Warrenlady, I ask for nothing save that
the warren continue to uphold tradition and treaty and protect us from
the creatures of the wastelands, just as Northelm and Larguad will
continue to send the tithes to support our protectors."

Waylene smiled. "We will continue."

Tristan nodded, smiling back. "So will we. Again, m'lady, I am sorry.
Northelm and Larguad will send supplies as soon as we can..."

Waylene began to say no, but Tristan interrupted her.

"To pay for what has happened. It is 'our' duty to see that wrongs are
put right." He finished, "Please excuse me, but I need to return to my
men."

Waylene nodded, and Traknor saluted the young lord. Tristan bowed deeply,
turned, and left...

*** med center ***

S'an walked through the medical center, stepping over and around people
who had been layed out, the building already packed to overflowing.
'Thank the gods I'm in one piece.' S'an thought, 'Got lucky.'

*You did well sir.* Joell thought, and S'an grinned.

'How are you feeling?'

*Much better now, sir. I will heal soon. Is Yasmine all right?'

'I'm checking on her now.'

*When you see her, tell me so I can tell Starlin? Sir, she is very
upset...*

'Well do, my friend.' S'an finished as he spproached Yasmine's room.
Knocking softly, a voice answered.

"Come in."

S'an opened the door, and walked inside. He was surprised to see Kay and
Kattibrie in the room.

"I'm sorry, am I interrupting anything?" He asked the younger riders.

Kattibrie shook her head. "No, not at all."

S'an looked at Yasmine. "Is she getting any better?"

Kay shook his head, his hands signing. S'an wasn't sure what to make of
it, but Karribrie helped out.

"He says we don't know, but that some of the healers might."

S'an grimaced. "I'm sick of healers right now." He said, knowing that if
Lakoda saw him, she would start nagging him about getting rest.
"I just wanted to see is Yasmine was ok." He said.

Kay signed something to Kattibrie, and she nodded. "We will be leaving in
a little bit." She said to S'an, "I'm sure Yasmine wouldn't mind if we all
were in here for a little while, though."

S'an nodded and grinned. "Great..." He said, and took a seat. "Hey, just
a thought, but could you teach me what you were doing earlier? Some sort
of sign language right?"
