[Day 20, early afternoon]

[Laria and R'chis]

His father had grinned from ear to ear when he'd seen the blue colour. 
She knew it wouldn't be long before Vithraena and Repechin would be unable
to keep in the news, so they'd gone to see her mother.  Her mother had
cried, but they were happy tears.  Unfortunately, they'd been interrupted
by the wraith alarm at the hatching cave.

It had the whole warren unsettled.  Where had the wraith gone?  How had it
gotten so close to the hatching chamber anyway?

They knew their dragons wouldn't be able to hold the news in much longer,
so now they were headed to Marrid.

"Be careful," Ophelia advised, looking concerned.

Laria rolled her eyes.  "Mother!  We'll be fine."

Ophelia sighed.  "I know, but there's been so much going on there lately."
And *he* was there.  But she didn't say that.  Despite the passage of
time, she still couldn't forgive him.  But she knew R'chis felt much the
same way.

"We'll be careful," R'chis answered.

With that, their dragons leaped into the sky and then winked out.
