Yasmine was oiling Starlin, trying not to think about the previous night
and the fellow that stayed the night in her and Koda's apartment. It
bothered her greatly, the thought of Koda and this fellow sleeping
together. So much did it bother her that she hardly slept all night, and
was the first one out of the apartment in the morning.

>"Yasmine." She said moving toward the girl.

>"Good morning Lady Waylene," the girl said standing quickly.

She noted with concern the fatigue and worry lining the warrenlady's face.
But she didn't ask, it wouldn't be polite.

>"I have something I'd like for you to do for me."

"There is a new arrival... She is Serraphine se'Larguad, and she's in
S'an's custody. She was in a bit of trouble. I would like you to talk to
her, if you would, one lord's daughter to another."

Yasmine paled, "Lord's daughter..."

"Yes dear, you are Yasmine Utha."

"I'm G'vriel's daughter," Yasmine shook her head slowly.

"In fact, you are, but you are also and Utha by name and you were raised as
his child. You know the ways of the nobility."

"Of course," Yasmine said, not wanting to show any disrespect and knowing
there was no arguing what the queenrider had said. She spotted S'an a short
distance away with a young woman. "No time like the present," she resolved.

"Thank you, dear," Waylene said.

Yasmine jogged to catch up with S'an and his charge. She moved easily,
wearing the traditional leather pants and boots of a dragonrider, a violet
silk blouse, and black leather vest that matched the pants.

"S'an" she called out, getting the dragonrider's attention.

"Ah, Yasmine!" S'an smiled, "I would like you to meet Serraphine
se'Larguad"

"Pleased to meet you, my lady." Yasmine said formally.

Serraphine looked oddly at the petite young girl, whose eyes matched her
blouse and blond hair contrasted with the black of leather garb.

"Lady Serraphine, this is Yasmine Utha," S'an continued.

"Utha... from Tressa?" Serraphine asked.

"Yes, the same." Yasmine said.

"We were about to have a bite to eat. Would you care to join us, Yasmine?"
S'an asked.

"I'd love to," Yasmine blushed, surprised at herself for accepting the
invitation so easily. For some reason she didn't feel threatened by S'an
like she did by so many other men.

** Dining hall **

The three sat uncomfortably looking at each other over their plates of
food. "I hear that you had a trouble. That's how I ended up at Marrid,
too," Yasmine said, attempting to break the ice.

S'an looked surprised. The blond girl didn't normally talk much about what
happened to her at the cave.

"Is that so?" Serraphine replied.

"Yes, I... um... was found after having escaped from kidnappers," Yasmine
confessed, suddenly very interested in the food on her plate.

"How terrible!" Serraphine intoned.

"Yes, it was. But I suppose it was destiny."

"How so?"

"Well," Yasmine said cautiously, "If it weren't for that I wouldn't have
had the chance to join with Starlin."

"I imagine that Lord Utha must have been thrilled to have his daughter
become a dragonrider," Serraphine said.

"No, actually, he was a bit pipped by it," Yasmine said, understating the
situation.

"Why is that?" Serraphine asked.

Yasmine was thinking how to carefully answer the question when she felt a
kiss on her head.

"Hello, my daughter!" G'vriel said, "I'm please to see you spending some
time with some people closer to your age."

Yasmine paled, not knowing how this revelation would be taken. She was in
no way embarrassed of her parentage, but she knew how other nobles thought.

"Lady Serraphine, I would like you to meet my father, G'vriel.

"But I thought you were Utha's daughter."

Yasmine shook her head, "I am Lady Elora's daughter, Lord Utha raised me as
his own."
