>"S'an" she called out, getting the dragonrider's attention.
>"Ah, Yasmine!" S'an smiled, wondering what she was doing here.
She always seemed like the qiuet type, keeping to herself mst of the
time.
>"I would like you to meet Serraphine se'Larguad"
>"Pleased to meet you, my lady." Yasmine said formally.
>Serraphine looked oddly at the petite young girl, whose eyes matched her
>blouse and blond hair contrasted with the black of leather garb.
'A woman wearing pants?' She thought to herself. 'These dragonriders are
indeed strange.'
>"Lady Serraphine, this is Yasmine Utha," S'an continued.
>"Utha... from Tressa?" Serraphine asked.
>"Yes, the same." Yasmine said.
>From Tressa?!?! What was this about. It was like the two knew
eachother.
>"We were about to have a bite to eat. Would you care to join us,
Yasmine?"
>S'an asked.
>"I'd love to," Yasmine blushed, surprised at herself for accepting the
>invitation so easily. For some reason she didn't feel threatened by S'an
>like she did by so many other men.
As they all walked the rest of the way to the dinding hall, S'an eyed
Yasmine carefully. There was something not right in the way she
responded so quickly to him invitation. It was not like her at all.
*I think she is very pretty, sir.*Joell mumbled in the back of S'an's
mind. *For a human.*
S'an grinned as he caught his gaze going lower and lower, admiring the
dragonrider's body. *Yes she is.* S'an replied, *But of coarse, Marrid
does not have any lack of attractive women.*
*Which goes back to the odd infatuation that humans have with 'sex'.*
Joell thought, and S'an could feel a mental shrug. *With dragons it is
much simpler.*
*Well, we have fun anyways.* S'an finished, and walked into the dining
hall.
** Dining hall **
>The three sat uncomfortably looking at each other over their plates of
>food. "I hear that you had a trouble. That's how I ended up at Marrid,
>too," Yasmine said, attempting to break the ice.
>S'an looked surprised. The blond girl didn't normally talk much about
what
>happened to her at the cave.
This is indeed an interesting day. Masking his surprise, he looked over
at his charge. Serraphine looked to be very interested in everything.
>"Is that so?" Serraphine replied, not really paying attention to the
other female. Of coarse, the male dragonriders in the room were very
nice to look at. Many of the lords and ladies she knew were not as......
fit...... as the people up in the mountains.
>"Yes, I... um... was found after having escaped from kidnappers,"
Yasmine
>confessed, suddenly very interested in the food on her plate.
S'an hid a smile behind his napkin. This was very interesting. Much
like watching a game of chess.
>"How terrible!" Serraphine intoned. It was much like her own story,
only she was not kidnapped per say. Almost perhaps, but worse could have
happened.
>"Yes, it was. But I suppose it was destiny."
>"How so?" The baronet asked, now very interested at what the young woman
had to say.
>"Well," Yasmine said cautiously, "If it weren't for that I wouldn't have
>had the chance to join with Starlin."
>"I imagine that Lord Utha must have been thrilled to have his daughter
>become a dragonrider," Serraphine said, wondering what her father would
think of such a thing happening. Of coarse, she already knew the answer
to that question.
Lord Utha?!?!?! She was nobility also. S'an hid his amazement,
surprised that someone so nice could be part of nobility.
>"No, actually, he was a bit pipped by it," Yasmine said, understating
the
>situation.
>"Why is that?" Serraphine asked. She was not very familiar with the
goings on in Tressa, but she wondered if this was any insight as to
handle her father in the same situation.
>Yasmine was thinking how to carefully answer the question when she felt
a
>kiss on her head.
>"Hello, my daughter!" G'vriel said, "I'm please to see you spending some
>time with some people closer to your age."
>Yasmine paled, not knowing how this revelation would be taken. She was
in
>no way embarrassed of her parentage, but she knew how other nobles
thought.
>"Lady Serraphine, I would like you to meet my father, G'vriel.
>"But I thought you were Utha's daughter." Serraphine asked, narrowing
her eyes. "You did say that didn't you?" Things were not as they seemed
right now.
S'an noticed the subtle facial expressions, and wondered what just
happened to get on the young baronet's bad side.
>Yasmine shook her head, "I am Lady Elora's daughter, Lord Utha raised me
as
>his own."
"I'm not sure I understand." Serraphine said, and toyed with the food on
her plate for a bit. She then looked up and nodded to G'vriel. "It is
nice to meet you dragonrider G'vriel."
The older rider smiled lightly, and nodded in return. "A pleasure,
m'lady." He said, and looked at S'an. The younger rider shrugged and
smiled. He was enjoying this way too much for his own good. Anything
that took Serraphine's attention from himself.
Yasmine shook her head. This was not going to be easy, espessially in
front of S'an. "My mother.... eh...."
"Stories can wait." S'an broke in, and winked at Yasmine. "Our food is
growing cold, and I still have the rest of the warren to show to
Serraphine."
Serraphine nodded, "That would be wonderful. This is a very interesting
place."
The rest of the meal went on without interruption.
**************
S'an andYasmine found themselves standing outside the searchling's
barracks, waiting for Serraphine to finish her inquisition of one of the
trainers on the proper care of dragons.
S'an yawned and held his side gingerly. "You would think that after
someone was almost killed they would be just a little more tired. I'm
exhausted." He said to Yasmine, "First the flight formations, then the
shops and craftmen, now the barracks. Next she'll be wanting to see
where I live!"

S'an and Joell
NRPG: Tag Morgan, you're it! ;) Go along with whatever you want. After
they finish their conversation, Serraphine will indeed
want to see where they live, and will probably have some
very odd questions for Yasmine when they are alone about certain
things about male and female riders....! *heh heh heh*
