[DL-M] Stepping in

>>S'an yawned and held his side gingerly. "You would think that after
>>someone was almost killed they would be just a little more tired. I'm
>>exhausted." He said to Yasmine, "First the flight formations, then the
>>shops and craftmen, now the barracks. Next she'll be wanting to see
>>where I live!"
>"Well, actually..." Serraphine replied, a glint in her eye.
San's face drooped and he suddenly felt extremely tired. How did she
keep going like this?
>Yasmine looked a S'an and could see how tired he was. "I would be happy
to
>show you where I live, if you'd like."
>"Why I'd be thrilled!" the baronet replied.
While they were walking away, Yasmine looked behind and S'an mouthed
'Thank you' silently. 'Joell, please ask Starlin to tell Yasmine that I
owe her dinner some day.'
*Yes sir.* Joell responded.
S'an made his way to the medical center where he put his feet up and let
them change the dressing around his side. He tried to regain as much
energy as he could, but the busy day had drained him of all remaining
strength. And he still hadn't done any of the paperworjk on the whole
raider incident.
Borrowing some stationary from the medical staff, he began the report.
About an hour later, he finished, making sure it was up to Trak's
specifications. Feeling better, and wanting to get outside again, S'an
snuck out of the medical center and met Joell outside.
'Joell, where is Yasmine and Serraphine right now?' He asked, and waited
a moment for the dagon to relay the questions to others. A minute later,
the dragon replied.
*They are at Yasmine and Lakoda's apartment, sir. Do you want me to take
you there?*
'Yes, I had better save them all from Serraphine. I really owe Yasmine
one for this.' S'an replied while mounting the dragon.
Taking off, it was only minutes until they arrived.

S'an arrived, and stood behind the corner, listening to the conversation.
It was extremely amusing lisening to Serraphine ask all her questions.
Almost amusing as Yasmine's own answers.
>"And the losers?" Serraphine asked.
>"Um... they go away frustrated, I guess." Yasmine responded.
>"And what happens to the couple after the mating flight?" Serraphine
>queried.
>"Um... I don't know... I've not had a mating flight yet. Lakoda???"
Yasmine
>asked, glad to pass the buck.
S'an stepped out from behind the corner, and answered the question with a
wide smile.
"Well, we usually just shake hands and go about with our dailey lives."
He said, and both young women jumped.
"S'an!" They both yelled, and he backed up, holding his hands up in
defence.
"What?" He asked, and sat down at the table. "I was just kidding."
"Truthfully, it's up to the individual. Each person is different in the
way they accept the eventual mating of their dragon. It's been 10 years
that I've been joined with Joell, and each time he has won a mating
flight, it's been different." He said, answering the baronet's question.
"It is a very wonderful experience though."
"Of coarse it is S'an." Lakoda said, walking into the room. "And what
are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to be in the medical
center?"
S'an grumbled to himself, and shrugged. "They let me out on good
behavior. Besides, I was about to show Lady Serraphine into the quarters
that have been arranged for her. I couldn't refuse m'lady now, could I?"
He ended with a warming smile.
"I do hope it is exquisite like this residence. You seem to have quite a
few luxuries for living in the mountains." Serraphine said.
"We get along all right up here, because we all look out for eachother."
S'an said, and winked at Yasmine. "It makes life much easier. OUCH!"
S'an jumped as Lakoda checked the fresh bandage on his side.
"It seems to be healing well." The healer mumbled.
"Of coarse, some things could be done without." The dragonrider said to
himself.
