[DL-M]: Into the Breach
by

Kendal quickly took off from Waylene's presence. He couldn't help
but feel a smile come over her face as he left her. He stormed off like a
Knight's errand on a cause to save the damsal in distress. Okay, perhaps
not that melodramatic, but a cause to save the one he loves none the less.

As Kendal left the dining hall Talitha passed on by. She was on
her way for a bite to eat when she turned and said hi to Kendal. She was
surprised to see him here, as word had it that he had left the warren
indefinitely.

"Hey Kendal, how are you doing."

"Oh, hi Talitha. I'm busy at the moment, I'll talk to you soon."
Kendal made his way passed her, heading for his apartment to grab his
gear.

"Kendal." She stopped him in his tracks by grabbing hold of his
arm with a tight form grasp.

"What's wrong. You've got the look of a man on a deadly mission."

"I've found out that Ailill and Tina are perhaps lost in the
caverns. They could be in serious trouble and I'm heading off to make
sure they're ok."

"Why are they in the caverns? Its not safe down there."

"I know. I'm worried about them."

	"Do you need any help."

"I wasn't planning on asking for any, i don't want to risk anyone
else on this, but if you'd care to join me. I'll be heading off in there
in a few minutes, after I grab some things from my apartment."

[NRPG Jill if you care to join me thats Kosher.]

Scene: Kendal's apartment.

Strangely this place never really feels like home to Kendal. He
spends more time away then he does here. Incredibly Spartan, with little
to no warmth in it, he made a note to himself to decorate later. It was
about time he left his past behind him and moved on.

Grabbing a few things such as his sword and rations, a medical kit
and a torch. Kendal was off. He headed for the caverns with Ainu,
yelling in his head to hurry. Ainu himself did his best to coax Storm
into revealing any information about Ailill's whereabouts but none was
forecoming.

<<Kendal, how are you going to find her. You have little in terms
of knowledge about these caverns. You could just as well be lost down
there as she is.>>

<Your right Ainu. But I have an idea.>

Quickly heading over to the medical center. Kendal entered
Z'lec's room. The guards allowed him a few minutes to speak with Z'lec.

Since Kendal had come to Marrid, Z'lec had always seemed as though
he was an able leader. One who truly and deeply cared about the safety of
this warren and one who took nothing for granted. Strong and intelligent,
one able to overcome any odds.

Now as Kendal entered the dimly lit room, Z'lec sitting in the
corner with a demented smile on his face, Z'lec looked as though he was
only a shadow of his former self. Physically able, mentally unstable.
Kendal tried not to pity him, but could not. To Kendal his ordeal in the
wastes was nothing compared to the challenge Z'lec must face. One in
which Kendal did not envy him for.

	"Get out."

"I've come to ask for your help Z'lec."

"Get out before I hurt you Kendal."

"I need information about the caves and how to move about them."

"I'm warning you for the last time Kendal."

"Ailill is lost somewhere in the caves and I'm going to try and
find her, but without your help, I'm as good as lost."

"Ailill is in trouble?" It had appeared a small spark of life, a
tiny one, had flared to life in Z'lec upon the mention of Ailill being in
trouble.

	"Will you help me?"

NRPG

Jill: not sure if you want to come along, but it would be interesting.

Kris: Z'lec could come along or he could tell Kendal where to go, up to
you...

Sorry I haven't said much recently, but I'll try and get back into the
swing of things...

The World has no room for cowards.
We must all be ready to toil, to suffer, to die.
And yours is not less noble because no drum beats before you
when you go out into your daily battlefields.
And no crowds shout about your coming when you return
from your daily victory or defeat.
