[DL-M] Jelous? Me? Nah!

>"S'an!" Yasmine greeted the anxious young man, throwing her arms about
>him.

S'an stumbled back as Yasmine's weight careened into him. With a grunt,
he hugged her back gently, thoughe was a bit reluctant to let go.
>"Are you okay? Who was that man?" He asked.

"Jer'lin of Daere," Yasmine answered.

S'an took a step back.
>"Of Daere? What was a Daere rider doing here with you?" S'an asked.
'Hmmm, things do not pose well for our young hero!' He thought almost
subconsciously.

*From what I am told sir, nothing happened.* Joell answered. *Am I to
suppose you like the young female?*

'What?!' S'an thought quickly. 'Yasmine is just a friend!'

*Oh, then I suppose I'll disreguard those feelings of jelousy coming from
you.* Joell replied.

If a dragon could mentally smirk, S'an thought, it had just happened.

>"I don't know why he was here at the jail, but he was very kind to me."
>Yasmine told him.

>"How do you know him?" S'an asked. 'I am not jelous...' He thought
quietly. 'Concerned, yes. But not jelous. I don't think I've ever been
jelous...'

>"So many questions!" Yasmine squirmed and blushed. But she could tell by
>the look she received that S'an wanted some answers, that he was
>mistrustful of the situation. She colored brightly as she confessed,
>"His Banta... um... won Starlin."

S'an sat down hard on the small bedding in the cell. "Wha..."

"But nothing happened!" She said quickly, and sat down next to him.
"Starlin had... begun to rise. And Banta was the only dragon around. I
was so scared..." She put her head on his shoulder. "I wasn't sure how
to handle it. But he just held me, and..." She paused for a second, long
enough to hear S'an draw in a short, fast breath. "Nothing happened.

S'an looked down at her. "You mean you both didn't..."

She blushed and turned away with a smile. "No. He was so nice, and
wouldn't."

'That's good.' S'an thought.

*Ahhh.... is that relief I hear sir?*

'Shut up you scaley menace! I think your medication has gotten to your
brain.'

*My mistake!* A soft chuckle echoed after the thought.

"I'm glad he didn't hurt you." S'an said.

"Oh, I don't think he would have ever!" Yasmine replied with conviction.

S'an grinned, and gave the young woman a reassuring hug. "Good." He said,
and kent down in front of her.

"We'll get you out of here soon Yasmine. The Warrenlady is going to do
everything in her power to help, perhaps even petition the Dragonlady
herself." S'an said, "And I'll be here often to make sure you're treated
well."

Yasmine nodded, and looked around. "I suppose I should be getting used to
being here."

"Not for too long you aren't." S'an said, and kissed her lightly on the
forehead. "Your father is waiting for you, and I've got to be getting
back."

"I understand." she said, not eager to see him leave.

"I'll return, so don't look so unhappy!" S'an said with a grin, and with a
final hug, walked out, nodding to G'vriel on the way.

LATE AFTERNOON
*************

S'an was on his couch for perhaps thirty minutes, just slipping off into a
wonderful nap, when Joell broke the peace and quiet that was his mind.

*Sir.*

S'an tried to ignore him.

*I know you're awake sir.*

S'an moaned, and rolled over. 'Now that it is offical, what is it Joell.'

*Ribbon says that Lakoda would like to see you for dinner.*

S'an's stomach rumbled at the thought of Lakoda's cooking. "Mmmmm..."

*Sir?*

'Oh.... tell her thank you, and that I'll see her tonight.' S'an replied,
pulled out of his daydream.

*Ok. By the way, should I mention something about feelings of jelousy to
the healer? Perhaps she could perscribe something...*

S'an shot stright up on the couch. 'Don't you even dare! And I wasn't
jelous! Yasmine is a good friend, nothing more...'

*Of coarse, sir. I'll send the message.*

S'an shook his head and rubbed his temples. 'Ohhh.... I am never going to
live this down...' Getting up, he walked into the bathroom to wash up
quickly.

*************
DINNERTIME
*************

Joell landed with S'an on the ledge of Lakoda's apartment, and he slipped
off easily, thanking the dragon for the ride. 'Now take it easy on that
wing. Lakoda says it will still be a week until you are flying up to full
speed.'

Joell grumbled, but nodded.

S'an grinned, and stroked the dragon on the neck. "I'll call when I'm
ready." With that, Joell took off from the ledge.

Knocking at the door, S'an waited patiently, passing a bag between on hand
and the other, his mind somewhere else.

*Sir, Ribbon says Lakoda says you can come in. She's in the middle of
cooking.*

S'an nodded to Ribbon in thanks, and walked in.

*****

>"Dinner's almost ready," she turned and grinned at him as he entered the
>room. "So how was Yasi when you saw her today?"

S'an shugged and grinned lightly. "She seems to be ok, though I'm a bit
worried about her. Starlin rose while she was in the jail..."

"I heard." Lakoda said, wondering if she had noted a slight tinge of
something in S'an's voice.

S'an nodded. "Other than that, she is just a little shaken about
everything that has happened. Utha, Starlin... that's got to be a lot for
her."

The healer nodded in agreement. "I wish I could go see her, but I am
still bound here in this stuffy warren."

"I'll take a message to her for you next time I visit." S'an offered.

"That would be wonderful." Lakoda replied with a grin, and looked down
into S'an hands. "So what's in the bag?"

S'an looked confused for a moment, and looked down, realising he was still
holding his contribution. "Ahhh..." He said, and blushed a bit. "Since
you are gracious enough to fix dinner, the least I could do is supply the
drink." He took out a bottle of wine from the package, and grinned.
"It's a good vintage."

Lakoda rolled her eyes to the sky and giggled. "Men!"

Tag Barb! Any filler for dinner? :)
After dinner
************

S'an and Lakoda sat in the living room, lounging on the couches, sipping
their glasses of wine lightly. He was still trying to recover his
strength after the wonderful dinner he had just consumed. For some
reason, S'an just couldn't find the energy to move after one of Lakoda's
meals.

His thoughts were focused on Yasmine all night. In fact, ever since the
afternoon when he had talked to her, he just couldn't let his mind rest.
Looking over to the healer, he took a long gulp of wine.

"Lakoda?" He asked.

She looked over at him and raised an eyebrow. "Yes?"

"Have you ever been jelous of someone... or a situation?" He presented,
"It seems a friend of mine has been acting pretty strange lately and I was
wondering what the symptoms were?" He added quickly.
