Carie watched as..Ranon..unfolded the leather board, and opened the box,
laying the pieces down, explaining each piece, it's moves, and certain
basic strategies.

"Sounds pretty easy," Carie said.

"Ah, there lies the challenge," Ranon replied, "You rreally need to know
your opponent, in order to base your strategies off of him."

"All right," She said, blowing her hair out of her face, "I'm game"

Carie didn't notice the pause from Ranon as she said such.  Instead, he
continued setting up the board.

Ranon started by moving a spearman out.  Carie stared at the board a
second, then moved a Rider, h oping she wouldn't prove TOO much a novice.
Ranon looked at the board again, this time moving a Rider as well.  Carie
sighed, moving a piece that looked like a catapault forward, as Ranon
quickly moved another Spearman forward.  Carie stared at the board fora
minute, then finally moved another Rider forward.  Ranon looked troubled,
and stared at the board.

"You've never played this before?"

Carie shook her head.

"well, you just managed to win, in 6 moves.  I don't think I've ever heard
of a game that short."

Carie smiled, "Must just be beginner's Luck."

Ranon smiled back.

It moved forward through the tunnel, surrounded by stone on either side.
It had been down in the caves a long ttime, but time meant nothing to it.
Only two things mattered, Sustenance and to get outt of these caverns.

It floated through the air, continuing forward, anand finally saw a heat
outline.  It leapt forward out of the shadows, atttaching to the mans face
as he started clawing at it.  The acid exuded quickly from it, as the man
tried to cleave it in half, and succeded.  The lower half attached to his
legs, eatting everything it could.

"Hey, Danar," Came a voice from a nearby tunnel, "Neres has new orders for
us"

'More!!!' The Wraith tthought to itself.  The top wraith seperated from
it's now dead source, and moved across the tunnel, waiting near the
enttrance where it had heard the voice.

The man never stood a chance, as he was attacked just as wquickly upon
entering.
