*Green eyed Monster*

[This is after Koda sees Shella for the second time]

Starlin rose while she was in the jail..."

"I heard." Lakoda said, wondering if she had noted a slight tinge of
something in S'an's voice.

S'an nodded. "Other than that, she is just a little shaken about everything
that has happened. Utha, Starlin... that's got to be a lot for her."

The healer nodded in agreement. "I wish I could go see her, but I am still
bound here in this stuffy warren."

"I'll take a message to her for you next time I visit." S'an offered.

"That would be wonderful." Lakoda replied with a grin, and looked down into
S'an hands. "So what's in the bag?"

S'an looked confused for a moment, and looked down, realizing he was still
holding his contribution.

"Ahhh..." He said, and blushed a bit. "Since you are gracious enough to fix
dinner, the least I could do is supply the drink." He took out a bottle of
wine from the package, and grinned. "It's a good vintage."

Lakoda rolled her eyes to the sky and giggled. "Men!"

She was pleased to notice when she looked at the bottle that it was a non
alcoholic brew. She smiled at his remembering her condition.

She took the bottle and told him to have a seat as dinner was almost ready,
then poured herself a drink from his bottle and one for him out of the
bottle she had stashed in the cabinet.

S'an smiled in appreciation when he tasted it.

"How are you doing now healer," he asked as she dished out the meal. "I mean
the baby...." He blushed.

"We're both doing fine," she smiled back at him. "I just need to take it a
little easier and no more... well not over do it any more."

She'd changed what she'd been about to say, and was thankful he didn't ask
her abut it. If he even noticed.

"So when are you going to go back and see Yasi again?" she asked.

"In the morning. So if you have anything you want me to tell her, I can do
it then."

"Well you can tell her I'm thinking about her and want her home soon. Tell
her I miss her dreadfully and that she's not to worry," Koda got up and went
into the other room, coming back a minute later with a blanket in her arms.

"I'd also like to send this along with you to give to her," she held it out
for him to take. "I think she'd feel better having something of her own
there to hold and comfort her."

S'an and Lakoda sat in the living room, lounging on the couches, sipping
their glasses of wine lightly. He was still trying to recover his strength
after the wonderful dinner he had just consumed. For some reason, S'an just
couldn't find the energy to move after one of Lakoda's
meals.

Looking over to the healer, he took a long gulp of wine.

She knew something was bothering him. Had gotten the feeling while they'd
talked during dinner. But also knew enough about him by now to know he'd
only tell her when he was good and ready too. So she waited.

"Lakoda?" He asked.

She didn't have long to wait.

She looked over at him and raised an eyebrow. "Yes?"

"Have you ever been jealous of someone... or a intuition?" He presented,
"It seems a friend of mine has been acting pretty strange lately and I was
wondering what the symptoms were?" He added quickly.

"I take it there's a girl involved?" she asked in a very serious tone of
voice, not giving into the humor she was feeling inside.

"Yea," he muttered and took another sip of wine.

"Well I think your friend will have to deal with this on his own. It's
really not something others can help with," she told him. "Believe me I know."

He turned to look at her wondering if she was joking.

"You..., Why you're beautify. I'm surprised someone like you would ever have
a problem like I.. my friend has."

She grinned at his compliment. "Believe me.. just because a person looks a
certain way it doesn't mean they won't have problems dealing with the
opposite sex. I told you I knew what your... friend.. was going through. And
I do.. but with me it's not another women I have to worry about.. it's my
dragon."

"Ribbon? Why would someone be jealous of your dragon?" he looked a little
confused by her words until reality hit him like a board. "Oh.. He's
Landbound huh?" S'an got the picture.

Koda nodded. "You got it. He seems to think that we can't work things out
between us because I happen to ride a dragon. He's been through it before
and is afraid of being hurt a second time."

"That's crazy. It's not like you're a real dragonrider or anything like
that!" he said and then could have kicked himself for insulting her. "I
didn't mean to imply that you... I mean you are a dragonrider... I mean..."

Koda broke out laughing. "It's okay S'an.. I know exactly what I am... I'm a
healer who happens to have the good luck to be joined with a dragon.. but
you're right I'm not a typical dragonrider. I don't fly in a wing and Ribbon
and I don't fight. So it sort of leaves us in a .. special place on the
Warren's poles."

"I guess you're right.. but I didn't mean to say anything bad about you...
We need your kind here."

Koda nodded her head.

"But enough about me.. has your *friend* told this woman how he feels about
her?"

"I don't think he really knew until recently," the man said. "It's not
something he was worried about happening.. but it sort of just crept up on
him and now he doesn't know what to do."

"Tell her."

"It's not that easy healer," he muttered and took yet another sip of the wine.

"I'm sure if your friend really cares abut this girl then it might be easier
then you.. I mean he thinks. He might just be surprised to know that she
might care about him too."

Koda tried to hide a yawn but S'an caught her at it. He stood up and reached
for her glass. "I think maybe it's time I left and let you get some sleep,"
he grinned. "You are suppose to be getting more rest now and here I am
dumping my friends problems in your lap."

"I didn't mind," she grinned, getting up and taking the glasses from him
then moving into the kitchen to place them by the sink.. "Helps keep other
worries off my mind.

Like trying to figure out what C'tain was going to do now that he'd
confessed his love for her. And knew she loved him. Would that be enough to
keep him here in Marrid and give them a chance?

How long was she going to have to wait for him to decide? Forever if she had
too. She loved him that much. But could they workout their problems with her
being a rider of a dragon? It wasn't as if.. like S'an said.. she was a real
dragonrider.

<<Sorry Rib's...I mean nothing against you my love.>>

<I never thought for one moment that you did,> the purple chuckled. <But
being a dragon is so much easier. We don't have to worry about silly human
thinking like you do.>

<<Well right now I would agree with you,>> Koda sighed and went back into
the living room where S'an was waiting for her.

"My advice from your friend is to tell this woman how he feels about her
before someone else slips in a tells her first. If he really cares abut her
then let her know. I'm sure he'll find out that she feels the same way he
does," she grinned slight, thinking of some things Yasi has said in
mentioning this man to her.

Koda was sure S'an was talking himself and her young friend and she heartily
approved of this man for her friend. He'd be good for her and take care of her.

"I'll be sure to tell him that," S'an winked at her and walked out the door.

She closed it slowly behind him and wondered back into the living room.
Seating herself back on the couch she finally noticed how quiet the
apartment was without Yasi here.

Soon though... she's have the baby to care for and then there was no hope of
the place staying quiet for long.

It scared her at how close she'd come to losing it. Up until then she had
known she wanted the baby but not how much. She smiled remembering the way
both Trey and Tain had kept watch over her that morning and the day before.
Was this what she was going to have to look forward to until the baby came?

Well she wouldn't fight it. Not when she'd had a warning. But she also hoped
Tain wouldn't see use this as an excuse to stay away from her till he made
up his mind what he wanted from her.

She knew exactly what she wanted... Him. To have and to hold. To sleep
beside her at night and wake up in his arms every morning. She wanted his in
her life. Sharing the days events and planning for a future.

Stifling another yawn she got up, thinking she'd finish cleaning the rest of
the dishes in the morning and went off to bed.

The future would just have to take care of itself.

[Well Justin... what's he gonna do?]
