[DL-M]: Entering the caves..with a little help
by

Kendal stood across the room from Z'lec as he asked him for his help. He
didn't know why he was doing this or why he felt that Z'lec could help
him, but here he was.

"Z'lec. You know those caves better than anyone and you may be
the only person who can track down Ailill and the others quick enough. So
I need your help."

"How do you know I won't simply turn on you, to escape."

"Because I have this strange feeling in the bruises on my face,
that you care for Ailill. At least for her well being. Right now she
needs your help."

"Alright, I'll help you. But after we help Ailill, all bets are
off Kendal."

"I have no clue as to what that means, but I'll accept those
terms."

"How are you planning on getting me out of here. The guards are
under Waylene's orders to keep me from leaving."

"Give me a minute." Quickly Kendal stepped out of the room.
Closing the door behind him. A few words were heard and and several
strange sounds that Z'lec could not make out. But just as quickly as he
left, Kendal came back into the room.

"Don't worry about the guards, they're taking a break. I told
them that I'd stand watch."

	"And they believed you."

"That and sucker punch did it."

With that, Z'lec walked out of the shadows and approached Kendal.
He had a look of determination in his eyes. As he came into the light,
for but a moment, Z'lec looked as though he was himself again. But as he
drew closer to Kendal, his cold dead staring eyes was all the indication
Kendal needed to know that Z'lec was still not all there.

	"Let's get moving."

Kendal and Z'lec left the jail cell of a room that Z'lec was in.
Z'lec looked down to see the guard who was standing watch, unconscious on
the floor.

"You know Waylene is going to have a fit later."

"You're my responsibility, I can handle it."

	"Yeah right."

Several minutes later and deeper into the caverns. Z'lec came upon a fork
in the road. They had made excellent time traveling through the caves as
Z'lec's knowledge of the caverns and his excellent tracking skills made
short work of the distance.

	"We have a problem."

	"Whats that."

"This appears to be a spot where Ailill was camping out, but there
are..."

"At least five sets footprints maybe more."

	"Right."

"We can't worry about that now. We'll just have to keep our eyes
open and be prepared. Lets keep moving."

Just trying to catch up to you Kate and James.

The World has no room for cowards.
We must all be ready to toil, to suffer, to die.
And yours is not less noble because no drum beats before you
when you go out into your daily battlefields.
And no crowds shout about your coming when you return
from your daily victory or defeat.
