[DL-M] Too Close a Call

Carie sighed in frustration. She'd only been in here for a few days, but
it seemed like 3 weeks already. But, fortunately she'd had lots of
paperwork to keep her occupied. She would almost have sworn that there
was no way there should have been so much paperwork between her and
Waylene, but here it was. Still, she wasn't complaining..much. Anything
was better than just lying here.
Ranon made things easier. So far he had visited her each day, and Carie
found herself looking forward to it. She had no other visitors during her
stay here.
Fiera dealt with it much better, flying around with the other Dragons,
talking to Aura. Fiera had learned much of Waylene and Aura over the last
several days that Carie had never known, nor suspected. Carie resolved to
work closer with the Warrenlady in the future. She'd shirked some of her
responsibilities since coming to Marrid, and reading through most of this
paperwork brought a lot of that to ight.
She'd have to discuss this with Waylene when she saw her next. However,
that could wait, as Fiera was of the opinion that Aura and her rider were
busy with several things. So Carie would wait.

> "Ranon, I can carry it, really," Carie protested.
>
> "You can't carry this and all the other stuff, though," he countered.
>
> She rolled her eyes. "I can so."
>
> "Can not."
>
> "Can... Oh, this is ridiculous. Come on."
>
> The two set off across the Green. Carie stopped and gazed at the Hatching
> Cavern.
>
> "What is it?" Ranon asked.
>
> "Fiera says that Aura says there's something wrong with Shella's eggs."
>
> Ranon shrugged. "Doesn't surprise me. She's not a queen, then she is a
> queen... I can't think that bodes well for egg production."
>
> "I wonder if I should go over there. Aura's really upset."
>
> "If Aura's really upset, that's the last place you want to be."
>
> She turned and grinned. "Yeah, you're probably right."

Carie rolled out of bed, having overslept, and was awakened by the sound
of Dragon Keening.
"Who, Fiera?"
*D'zall and Rainy*
"Do they know what happend?" Carie asked, remembering the plague that had
gone throught Marrid a while ago.
*No, and a group is out there investigating now*
"Is there anything we can do out there?"
*Colchis says no, they seem to have it under control*
Carie nodded to herself. She had Fiera drop her off so she could do some
walking. She'd lost some tone during her bedrest, and was trying to
get back into shape by exercises, and walking a bit more. She turned the
walking into a light jog, and stopped bya atree after several minutes.
She started walking back toward the warren when her senses spiked. A cold
feeling washed over her, as goosebumps popped over her arms.
"Fiera, something's not right here.."
Carie's breath caught as she got no reply. She looked back at the warren
to see her Dragon rising quickly into the sky.
Carie ran back toward the warren, when she felt soemthing change...
*CARIECARIECARIE*
"I'm Here!" Carie yelled, stopping to sit ont he ground, massaging her
leg. She noticed Fiera coming towards her..
"NO!. Wait for me to get back to the warren. Also tell Aura what just
happened. I think we have a serious problem here."
Respectfully,
