Day 2 - late evening (I think) - Med centre
>She clung to him, her head tossing from side to side on the pillows.
>Helplessly Breeze looked at the staffer.
>"Let him stay. He's not doing any harm." she sighed as she watched
>the dragon cuddling up to Breeze's legs. "But if he makes any noise
>or fuss then he goes straight back where he came from." she warned
>Breezesternly. Breeze grinned his thanks and sank into the chair
>beside the bed oncemore.
>"He'll behave I promise." Breeze told her gratefully. "How's Tina."
>"Tina's fine." Tina surprised them, her voice filled with pain. "A
>bit frayed round the edges maybe, but alive and kicking."
Tina managed a smile. "Let the dragon stay. They're quite cute at this
age."
"How bad is it doc?" asked Tina wincing in pain as she spoke.
"Well from what we can tell you're not to bad, just badly beaten.
There's no internal damage and nothing is broken. You'll be as right as
rain before you know it." said the nurse. "I'll be back to check on you
later."
The nurse left the room. There was an uneasy silence between Breeze and
Tina.
>"Do you remember what happened?" Breeze asked her softly.
A shadow played across Tina's face. The nightmare briefly relived.
"Yes." waw all that Tina could stammer clutching Breeze's hand more
tightly. "What happened to SHella? Is she OK?" asked Tina.
"Yes Shella is fine, except for being in a foul mood. She's the one who
saved you before, before they..." Breeze trailed off. "Well lets say
Shella showed everyone at the carnival not to bother a dragon rider."
"I, I faintly recall her being metallic again before I passed right
out."
"Yes she was metallic, but only briefly. She's back to her Cyan self
again."
"How bad are you? I don't mean the injuries but well..." asked Breeze.
Tina's eyes went t as hard as stone and her attempt at a smile faded
into nothing.
"I'll survive." said Tina flatly. "They won't if I ever get my hands on
them." Breeze gripped her hand tighter and shivered slightly. Probably
from the ice cold deadly tone to Tina's voice.
"I'm afraid you won't get the chance. Shella killed both of your
attackers when she rescued you." said Breeze.
"Good, I hope they rot in what ever afterlife they believed in." said
Tina.
[day 3 early afternoon - tina's apartment]
Tina had been allowed to go home at about lunch time. She still felt
stiff and sore and her body was covered by a series of nasty purple
bruises. Breeze had been constantly with her, which to Tina's surprise
she quite liked. He had gone off to pay some attention to his dragon and
to get something to eat.
Tina sat curled up in her armchair drinking a mug of incredibly strong
coffee. Laced with a generous amount of whiskey.
<How are you my love?> purred Shella.
<Angrey, very very angrey.> said Tina. The sounds of the carnival were
driving Tina deeper into her anger. <How did I let it happen Shella? I'm
a dragon rider, I'm supposed to be able to handle myself, but was taken
out by two thugs.>
<You weren't prepared for danger my love. If you'd had sword at your
side you could have taken them both, or you'd had a dagger.>
<Right.> said Tina.
She got up out of her chair and strode into her bed room. Thrown on a
chair were her leathers torn and blood stained. Tina lookoed at them and
started to cry. the memories commnig flooding back. She collapsed onto
her bed and cried herself to sleep.
[Midafternoon day 3]
Tina woke as someone gentley shook her awake.
"Tina wake up. It's ok it was only a nightmare." Tina looked up ans saw
the young face of Breeze looking down at her. Tina sat up and put her
head on Breezes chest and let him hug her. She closed her eyes and
grimased as a breif flash of her attack washed accross her eyes and then
it was gone and she could feel Breeze holding her and could smell his
aftershave.
"Breeze I need to borrow some clothes, my leathers are kind of ruined."
"Sure Tina, but wouldn't you be better off getting some new 'female'
clothes?"
"Sure, if I wanted to be plain and boaring. No I intend to get another
suit of leathers made. I've got all the bits that go under the leather,
but I'm never wearing theat suit again."
[A shot while later]
tina strode down the corridor wearing some clothes borrowed from Breeze.
She arrived at the leather workers. A tall man stood there in plain
breeches and shirt with a leather apron on.
"Hi." said Tina.
"What can I do for you?" asked the man.
"I want a suit of leathers made. Not your usual kind of fighting
leathers but like these except without the holes and bood." said Tina
dumping her bundle of clothes on the table.
"Ok when would you like them?" asked the leather worker.
"ASAP, and I want 2 suits if possible."
"Not a problem. It may take a couple of days to get them made. I'll get
Josh working on them starighrt away."
A young man walked in from the back. He was as tall as his father and
good looking.
"Hi tina." he said.
"Oh hi Josh." Tina remembered Josh from a week or 2 ago. He's been
boreing and not the most intelligent of people, but he'd had a fit body
and been good enough in bed. No where near as nice as Breeze was.
"I also want a kind of holster for my dagger, and I'll want it strapped
to my thigh."
"Can do." said Josh watching Tina walk off and thiking of their night
together, wishing he had the courage to ask her out, but then did anyone
ask Tina out or did she make all the moves?
[Later still.]
Tina go back to her apartment just in time to see Ailillturn to leave.
"Hi." said Tina.
"Hi, how are you?"
"Getting by."
"You look different. Is this a new look?"
"No! This is just until I get my leathers fixed. Come in. Do you want a
glass of wine?"
