[DL-N] Attracting a crowd... :)

Still smiling she turned back to A'shair, "Do you mind if I sit
down? I'd love to hear some more of your music." She grinned,
putting her hand over her heart, "I promise to stop throwing myself
at you."

A'shair smiled, blushing because of Sirus being lazy about his
color. "Please, I'd like the company." He said shyly. "I'm sorry
about Sirus," He said, looking towards the camoflaged dragon. "He
has been getting better about his color, really."

"What exactly is his color?" Meena asked, watching her own dragon
lay down next to Sirus.

A'shair shrugged, "I don't know myself. When we joined, he just
kept changing... I'm not really sure he knows himself."

*I know... but why does it matter?* Sirus said half asleep.

A'shair laughed, "He says he knows, but..." He leaned back, looking
at his flute. "Dragons can be a stubborn bunch."

"Yes, I know." The young woman laughed.

A'shair grinned, and looked at Meena, very nervous about talking to
someone out in the open. Yet, she seemed not to mind the way he
looked... "It's very nice out today... much better than being
inside. I've never really been out like this before."

Meena nodded, "I know, but you could get hurt by the sun, just like
Vonn."

The wingsecond grinned, looking at the sleeping dragon, whose hide
was as white as he was. "We are much alike." He said, looking at
his skin. "But soon I'll be having more time outside. Maybe one
day without this..." A'shair motioned to his cloak.

"That would be wonderful." Meena said, and looked at him a bit
shyly. "Would you mind if I asked you a question?"

A'shair shook his head, "No, I don't mind."

"I've heard that you can... control fire." She said with a
questioning look. "It's probably rumor, but..."

"It's true." A'shair said, and smiled. "It's all right to ask, I
don't keep it hidden. It's just that it is very dangerous."

Meena seemed interested in the whole idea. "Is it like a dragon's
flame?"

He shook his head, "No... I can show you, but only a little bit."

She nodded and A'shair concentrated, and soon the air between them
rippled with heat, and a small flame appeared hovering. Meena
looked at it with wonder, and he nodded with a smile, relaxing a
bit. "See, not like a dragons flame, but still..."

"A'shair!" A voice said from behind him, and he lost his
concentration, the flame flaring up with a huge *POOF*, the heat
knockng both him and Meena backwards. A yelp came from the
direction of the voice, and A'shair turned to see the warrenlady
Naomi with M'lent, and looked over to Meena.

"Are you all right, I'm sorry... I didn't mean for it..." He said,
starting to feel very uncomfortable.

Meena sat up, and started to laugh. A'shair looked very confused,
and soon Naomi and M'lent started to laugh with her. Were they
laughing at him? He wondered, looking for a way out...

Naomi saw the nervousness in the young man, and put a hand on his
shoulder. "It ok, I was laughing at the look on Meena's face, as
well as my own. It was quite a surprise." She said, "I souldn't
have crept up on you."

A'shair nodded, and chuckled a bit himself. It was amuseing, now
that he looked at it. "It's good to see you out and about." Naomi
said to him as she sat down, "I've always said you should talk more
with others."

A'shair just blushed deeply, finding his own voice finally. "Yes,
I know. Meena and I were just talking. I was playing my flute..."
He said, as if making up an excuse. "It seemed like such a nice
day, and I couldn't stay inside."

"The medication is working then." M'lent asked.

"Yes, though it is still being tested." He answered, and soon there
was another shadow coming up.

Soliel approached Naomi and M'lent. "Well now, we seem to be having
quite a gathering on the green here." She grinned. "Naomi, its so
nice to see you again, are you rested well?"

A'shair looked at the young woman, noticing that he was drawing
quite a crowd. Getting a bit nervous, he checked on Meena again.
"Are you sure you're all right?" He said nervously.

"Yes, I'm fine. A bit surprised..." She said with a laugh.
"That's quite a tool you have there."

A'shair nodded and grinned. "I'm getting better at controling it,
much like Sirus and his colors."

"A'shair." Soliel said quietly, lifting her harp. "I heard your
flute and I thought perhaps you would not mind if I played with
you?"

Now everybody was looking at him. He had never played infront of
so many, and he turned his flute over and over in his hands. "I
would love to hear it." Meena said, and Naomi agreed.

"Ok..." He said, very self-conscious. "But I don't know any real
music."

"We'll make it up as we go along." Soliel said as she sat down on
the other side of A'shair.

He began to play then, the melody coming from the flute soft at
first, but began to pick up as he lost himself in the music.
Soliel began then, adding her harp to the cords, the music taking
on a new sound, capturing everybody in it's flow. Grinning, Ashair
shifted the sound to a joyful dance, Soliel seeming to know what he
was about to do, and made the change as well.

For a while nothing was said, everybody just content with listening
to the music, but it soon got late and they ended the song. The
sun was still bright in the sky, but A'shair was beginning to feel
tired. Putting his flute away, he covered up his face with his
hood.

"Are you all right?" Soliel asked, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm fine, just a bit tired. I'm not used to being out this
much..." He said, indicating the sun. "Besides, it's way past
lunch. Is anybody else hungry?"
