[DL] Meena

Meena froze as she heard footsteps above. In fact so did Greta and her
children. It had been so quiet all afternoon and now they could heard the
rug being pushed back from the hidden door. Greta grabbed a dagger from
behind a box and waiting cautiously. Thankfully there was a rhythmic knock
which signaled the arrival of a friend.

Both women breathed a sigh of relief as they watched the door being open and
legs descend down into the hidden room beneath the building. Meena smiled as
she saw the old white haired man descend the ladder.

"Hered," she cried. "Is it time?"

"Just about," he told her. "I just closed my shop, and thought I would come
and wait until it was time to go."

"We still leave as the sunset?" she asked.

He nodded, "I have heard nothing else from your dragonrider friend, Meena,
so I must assume that we do."

Meena began to nod, then turned to the man, realized what he had said, "*We*
do? Hered? You're coming with us?"

The man nodded, "If your WarrenLady will have me."

Meena grinned, "It doesn't matter, cause I will have you. And I'm sure Demee
will as well."

"I can't stay here any longer. Not to mention once this is over, I'll
probably have Harkon breathing down my neck as well," he shrugged, "until
now he's left me alone. I'm sure were he to get his hands on Demee, I'd
never see the boy again."

Meena turned to Greta, "I suppose you think we are horrid to want to thrust
your little boy to Lord Harkon."

She shook her head, "I know you only want what's best for your kid. So do I.
If our safety is guaranteed, Lord Harkon can ..." She looked over at her
children, then back at Meena. "Well, you know what I mean."

Meena grinned, "I do."

Greta looked out the window as the sun began to sink. She turned to her
companions, "Well, I think it's time. Let's do this before I change my mind."
