Lacey flew away from the beach scene, tears streaming down her face. Why 
did it have to be Darrkon? Just when things were so right with them, now, 
after the mating flight, he would probably turn his attentions to Naomi.
Naomi was so much prettier & smarter, why wouldn't he want her instead of 
me Lacey thought.

On they flew until Garnet found a clearing in the moonlight where Lacey 
could relax & deal with this. She climbed down off od Garnet & cuddled 
into her side.

"Oh Garnet, will he still care about me? Do we still have a chance? I 
know we were getting closer, but now I am afraid he will become closer to 
Naomi" Lacey sobbed

(But, can't you share?) Garnet was puzzled. Dragons never felt this 
possessiveness.

"You don't understand, sweetheart. Humans can't share like that" Lacey 
tried to explain thru her tears.

Lacey sat down next to Garnet. What Garnet had said, made her think. 
Maybe she didn't have the right to be possessive over Darrkon. After all, 
it wasn't as thought they were mates or anything. Maybe if they were, or 
if they had had more time to get closer & Lacey was more sure of his 
feelings for her, she wouldn't be this worried or upset. Maybe she had 
misread what she thought Darrkon was feeling for her.

Lacey again burst into sobs at this thought, knowing she already cared 
about Darrkon, even after only a few days. He made her feel like no man 
had ever made her feel before. Lacey drifted off to sleep, exhausted by 
so much crying.

She awoke a few hours later, at first forgetting where she was & what had 
happened. Then she remembered & realized she would have to go back & deal 
with it.

(Lacey, please let me talk with you & explain) Naomi's voice echoed in 
Lacey's mind

(There is nothing to explain, Naomi. I understand. You couldn't help it)
Lacey thought back at her sister.

(Please let me come & talk)

Lacey gave Naomi a picture in her mind as to where she was. In just a few 
minutes, Amethyst & Naomi appeared overhead. As her sister landed & 
dismounted, there was at first an awkward silence, then Lacey burst into 
tears & ran into her sisters arms.

"Oh, Naomi. I think I am falling in love with him!"
