[DL] Meena

Meena awoke to the sounds of children happily playing in Demee's bedroom. It
was such a wonderful sound that it put her in a good mood immediately. She
got up and slipped on her robe before going to check on the children. The
three were playing with Demee's blocks and being so good she didn't want to
disturb them, so she headed into the kitchen to fix a little breakfast for
each of them.

<Vonn, could you tell Werenth that I need Jahn's help this morning, please.
I need one of the nursery workers to come to my apartment to watch Demee today.>

Vonn nearly jumped for joy, <Oh yes, I'll call Werenth right away!>

Meena chuckled, she knew that Vonn had a special attachment to Jahn's green
dragon. She had teased her dragon that she let Werenth win her last two
mating flights. Vonn had been adamant that she would never do such a thing.

<Werenth says that Jahn will bring someone up right away.>

"Mama," she heard Demee's small voice call.  Meena walked quickly to the
bedroom to a smiling face, "Mama, hungy."

"I'm sure you are love," she said, "Are the rest of you hungry?"

Lars and Alyne nodded. "I want my mama," said the little girl sadly.

"I know sweetie. Tell you what, if you sit down like a big girl and eat your
breakfast for your Aunt Meena, we'll go find your mama."

She nodded and smiled.  Meena opened the gate and sat the children down with
their breakfast. Then she heard dragon wings on the ledge, so she headed out
to greet Jahn. She was a little taken aback when she saw Sasha. Sasha being
D'Garret's daughter might not be the best person to have watching the
children. However, today was the day they were to meet Harkon anyway. There
wouldn't be any time for D'Garret to do anything anyway. Not anymore. Not
now that she had a bargaining chip.

"Sasha was free Meena, so she said she could watch Demee," Jahn said.

"I hope he's not ill," said the girl, concern on her face.

"No, he has company, and I didn't want to overburden Rybeth." She turned to
Jahn, "Thank you, Jahn. Would you wait here while I introduce Sasha to the
children." Jahn nodded.

"Anything for you, Meena," he said with a soft smile.

Meena smiled at the tall man, then led Sasha to the kitchen. "Sasha I'd like
you to meet Demee's cousin's, Lars and Alyne. I'd like you to stay here with
Lars and Demee. I'm going to take Alyne with me. I'll bring her back after
awhile."

Sasha nodded as she began helping the children with their breakfast dishes.
Meena smiled, she felt guilty for doubting the girl. She was one of Demee's
favorites and she was wonderful with children. She left the girl to her job
and went to talk to Jahn.

"I have another request of you, Jahn, if you have time today."

"Well, we are supposed to be a wing practice this afternoon," he said.

"I know," she said, "But I think that T'grat will let you and I both out of
it for this."

"What's going on, Meena?"

"Oh, Jahn. You were there when my father tried to take Demee." Jahn nodded,
so Meena continued. "Well, I think we have a way around that now, but it's
still risky, simply because Harkon is so unpredictable at times."

"What do you want me to do?"

"Lord Harkon is on his way here today, he thinks to pick up Demee. I want
you to scout out his caravan and let Vonn know how long before they'll be
here, so that I can be ready."

"Have you spoken to Naomi or T'grat about this already."

Meena nodded, "Most of it. I plan on seeing Naomi this morning, and working
out the details."

"Alright, Meena. I'll help you out."

"I appreciate it, Jahn." Jahn nodded and hopped on Werenth and headed out to
find Harkon's caravan. 

Meena walked back into the kitchen. "Are you ready to go find mommy, Alyne."

"Yes!" said the little girl happily. Meena put Alyne in Demee's seat and
climbed up on Vonn behind the girl. They then headed over to T'grat's
apartment. Meena hoped that Greta and T'grat had decided to get up early.

As Vonn landed on the ledge, Meena saw T'grat emerge from the bedroom. She
was glad to see that he was fully clothed and looking ready for the day.
"Where's Greta," she asked.

"She's making breakfast," he said.

"Well, this little one wanted her mommy, so I had to bring her over." As
soon as Meena had the little girl down from the dragon, she ran into the
kitchen to find her mother. "I'm glad to see your up bright and early this
morning," she said with a wry grin.

T'grat looked at her and then decided against responding, so Meena continued
to tease him, "Did you and Greta get a chance to talk about our plans for
the day?"

"No... we didn't." he said smugly. Then grinned widely at the young woman
beside him, "I wasn't much in the mood for talking last night."

Meena nodded, "I noticed." The two chuckled, then looked to the kitchen as
Greta came out holding the little girl.

"I wanted to thank you for keeping the kids last night, Meena."

"They had a great time, and they were so good. No trouble at all," she said
smiling. She then turned back to T'grat. "I sent Jahn to check on Harkon's
caravan. I know he'll be on his way. Today's the day he wins his prize."

"That's fine. Have you seen Naomi yet?"

"Are you kidding, the morning after a mating flight?" She chuckled, "But
I'll be heading over to her office as soon as I'm done here. Greta, Lars and
Demee are in my apartment with one of our nursery workers. They'll be fine
there. You can stay here with Alyne until we're ready for your part in all
this."

Greta nodded, "I hope your right and it works. I'm afraid I don't have as
much faith as you do."

"It will, don't worry," she said with much more confidence then she felt. As
much as she wanted this to work she to still had her doubt as Greta did. She
said her good-byes and headed for Naomi's office.

She knocked on Naomi's office door and entered at the soft, "Come in."

"Morning, Meena. Did you find out anything from Greta that might help. I'm
sorry, I wasn't able to help you, Amethyst had other plans," she said grinning.

"I understand. By the way," she said looking at the WarrenLady, "Who one, if
T'grat didn't?"

Naomi blushed, "Calindeth."

"Who?"

"Calindeth, Darrkon's dragon. They only just arrived in the Warren. He was
wild."

Meena nodded, "I see. I guess I haven't had the pleasure of meeting him yet."

"No, you've been understandably occupied with your father," she said with a
slight frown.
"So, what have you found out."

"Good news, I think. It should work. Of course, Harkon could prove me
wrong." Meena took a seat and explained to the WarrenLady about Greta and
Stont having married and Harkon destroying the evidence. Then she told her
how she planned on using that

Naomi smiled, "I think you're right, Meena. It'll work." The WarrenLady's
confidence helped Meena feel some as well. While she was being very positive
about the whole thing, she still had a few doubts. But it had to work. It
had to work for Demee.

NRPG: I expect Harkon to not be here until dinner time, so I didn't want to
finish this until everyone's had a chance to have some fun before then :)
Les & Kat, I plan on having Meena give Harkon the good news, though I would
like for it to be a semiformal affair, with the WarrenLady, Wingleader and
Junior queenrider in attendance :) Anyone else as well, as I'm assuming the
more show of force behind what Meena has to say, the better. So if you want
to write up to the meeting that's fine, but I'd like to write the actual
meeting :)
