Solielās encounter with Darrkon had left her slightly unsettled. She had
gotten the distinct impression that he had been displeased with their
encounter and couldnāt help but wonder why. He certainly hadnāt stayed
for long. Well, she hoped at least that he would come again, and that
they could get to be friends.
*Really Firen, Men can be such silly creatures. Could you please tell
Calindeth that I enjoyed meeting Darrkon?*
*Done.* Soliel rubbed Firen in the ridges between her eyes. *Enjoying
this?*
She was interrupted by a quite voice behind her.
"That was beautiful." The stranger said, making sure his face was
hidden under the
hood of his cloak.
"Who are you?" Soliel said quietly, taken aback. After the unexpected
encounter with Darrkon, she was a little jumpy. She hadnāt heard anyone
else come up behind her, but then she had been absorbed with talking to
Firen. Soliel smiled gently, feeling as if she ought to proceed
carefully lest she scared him away like a frightened deer.
"Iām Soliel, this here is Firen."
"Firen is a beautiful name, very fitting for her..." A'shair said,
moving back into the shadows. "My name is A'shair, my dragon is Sirus."
He said, and could feel his skin blushing. He fought the urge to back
away. "Like I said before, I found your song very relaxing and you have
a wonderful voice." He said quietly. "I am an assistant to the healers
and need to check your dragon, if you will let me..."
Soliel motioned to Firen. "Go ahead. Firen likes you."
Aāshair nodded and proceeded to check the young dragon.
Soliel was quiet for a few more minutes before saying quietly, "Would
you like to hear another song?"
"I would like that."
Soliel gsthered her small lap harp and came back to were Firen lay.
Looking at the now darkening sky, she began to sing:
"Oh where have you been all the day,
that you have been so long away?
Oh I have been a woodland child,
and walked alone in places wild,
Bright eyes peered from everywhere,
and voices filled the night time air;
All sounds of furred and feathered things,
The foot fall soft, the whirr of wings.
Oh I have seen small creatures play,
At hide and seek, the entire day,
And baby rabbits, full of fun,
poked out their noses at the sun,
And unafraid, played there with me,
In that still place of greenery.
A thousand secrets I have heard,
>From every lovely feathered bird,
The little red and yellow leaves,
Danced around be in the breeze,
In merry frolic too and fro,
As If they would not let me go."
Soliel let the music fade into the night air, and look at where Aāshair
was standing.
"did you like it?" She asked.
"It was beautiful. You have much talent for music." He paused. "Thank
you, I must be going now."
Soliel watched Aāshair as he left her rooms wondering if she had upset
him in some way. She looked at Firen for the answers.
*Did I do something wrong?* Soliel asked.
Firen snuggled her head against Soliel. *You did nothing wring. You did
everything right.*
