The two dragonriders were on their way down toward the bird's human when
suddenly the bird came at them more frantically. This time focusing on the
human's rather then the dragons.  Meena couldn't help but chuckle. It was a
smart bird who didn't get to close to Werenth's mouth!

Suddenly the bird landed on her shoulder squawking loudly, <Vonn do you
understand this bird. He seems to be trying to tell us something.>

Vonn grunted, <As if *I* would speak hawk!>

<Sorry dear. But perhaps we'd better move faster.>

Meena felt the burst of speed from the dragon as the bird jumped off her
shoulder heading for Jahn.

<Werenth says his rider suggests speed as well.> Vonn told her.

It was only moments before Meena caught sight of the four human's laying on
the ground. All of them looked dead. She hoped it wasn't too late for the
bird's human.

The bird settle on one of the bodies still squawking loudly.

Jahn and Meena jumped of and hurried over to the fallen man. "He's still
alive," Meena said as she checked his pulse and breathing. "But we'd better
get him back quickly.'

Jahn nodded, agreeing with the younger woman. He gently lifted the man,
"He's young."

Meena agreed the fallen lad couldn't be much more then 16 or so, though he
did have a short growth of hair on his face, which undoubtedly made him
appear older from a distance. She hurried to help Jahn settle the
unconscious young man unto Werenth while the bird flew in circles around him.

Once he was settled in, with his bird clinging tightly to the back of his
shirt, Meena hopped back on Vonn, and the two dragon's launched into the
air. <Norwall,> Meena told Vonn in both words and image. 

Within a second they broke out over the skies of Norwall Warren with
Werenth circling immediately toward the medical center. Vonn was right
behind him, landing just a short distance away. Meena hopped off and
hurried to help Jahn with his passenger.

"I've got him," Jahn told her. "Go get Lilliana."

Meena nodded and raced into the medical building. "Lilliana!" She called,
looking around for the head healer.

"What is it, Meena! You're going to wake all my patients!" the older woman
said coming out of one of the room.

"We've found an injured young man. He was apparently jumped by three thugs.
He's barely alive." Meena told her.

Lilliana jumped into action motioning Jahn, who had just stepped into the
building with the injured lad in his arms and the hawk on his shoulder,
into an empty room. "What is with that bird. Get it outa here!"

"You're going to have a hard time doing that, Lilliana," Jahn explained.
"It seems rather attached to the boy."

She eyed the bird which was sitting on the dragonriders should managing to
look at her anxiously. She groaned, "Very well, but please keep it out of
my way, or I won't be able to help him." She spoke both to Jahn and to the
bird. 

Meena turned her gaze from the healer working on the young man to look down
the hall. Her thoughts immediately turning to Devon. She wondered how he
was doing this morning though she had little hope of much change as there
hadn't been any yet. 

She gently tapped Jahn on the arm, "I'm going to go visit .. a friend."

He frowned slightly, "Maybe someone should go inform Naomi."

"I'll have Vonn do it," she said. He nodded and nodded watching as she
turned away and headed down the hallway. His thoughts of taking her out of
the warren and away from the medical center seemed to have backfired.
