Meena

Meena paced the green. Where was he! He knew they were supposed to meet
this morning. She looked over at Kalirna who was waiting patiently to help
collect the supplies for the expedition to the bandit's camp.

<Vonn .. call Werenth. Tell hime to chase his rider up if he has to.>

<Werenth says his rider is exhausted from mating all night.>

Meena raised an eyebrow, <What?>
<Wereneth says that ..>

<Nevermind, love. I heard you.>

She turned to Kalirna, "I'm so sorry to make you wait on him. He's usually
very prompt."

The young woman nodded, "It's okay."

Meena was even more upset because she had been considering making him her
wingsecond .. but not if something was up and he was going to start
slipping. She'd put off choosing someone to be the wingsecond because she'd
never been quite sure if T'grat was going to take back over his wing. But
now he seemed to content merely to do training and let her run the wing.

She looked back up into the skies to see the grey form of Werenth finally
launching from Jahn's skyward apartment. She watched in shock as the dragon
landed and the tall blonde man jumped off, helping a raven haired beauty
off behind him. She recognized the tiny woman as one of Greta's friends
from Whitbarrow.

For a moment she wondered what sort of 'payment' the woman had wanted ..
then she felt instantly guilty.

<I don't know why it bothers you,> she heard Vonn say. <Werenth's rider has
often volunteered to allow you to be the one to share his bed, and you
always turn him down.>

<It doesn't bother me .. except when it makes him late for his duties.>

<umm hmmm> Vonn chuckled.

Her eyes narrowed as the woman flung her arms around Jahn's neck pulling
him down into a passionate kiss. Meena spun to look at Kalirna, "He'll be
here soon."

"That is if she let's him go," Kalirna chuckled. Meena groaned, not caring
to look back and see anymore.

>"So Farr'in,"  the woman chuckled. "Do you and your dragon always make
>such .. ah ..  bold entrances?"

>"Not if we can help it" he grinned back, while deciding he just might like
>this woman.  In some ways she reminded him of his sister Lenna ..  but he

Meena fought back more chuckles. His dragon had had the watch dragon very
upset .. but since they had finally introduced themselves, Meena had let it
go. It was after all a party. She wasn't about to ruin T'grat and Greta's
day for a beligerant dragon.

>"So Farr'in why don't you tell me about what you did at Cleft Warren?"
>Meena asked and sat back to listen.

>"Ah ..  do you mind if I get something to eat first before I start?" he
>asked when his stomach let out with a loud rumble.

>"Oh sure .. " she almost giggled again, but held it back.

>"Thanks .. can I get you anything while I'm filling my plate?" he asked
>wanting to make a better impression then his dragon had when they first
>arrived.

>"No. Thank you anyway," she replied. "But I've already eaten."

>He nodded his head and headed over to the serving table.

Meena watched him go. He seemed nice enough, despite the flambouyance of
his dragon. Vonn seemed to think that the handsome brown and gold dragon
would fit in fine. Meena saw no reason not to trust her normally perceptive
dragon, despite the rampages of the the watch dragon.

She spotted Greta's other girlfriends wandering in with various riders on
their arms and she frowned slightly. Though why it should bother her she
wasn't sure. Probably simply because of her own deeply ingrained landbound
notions about such women. Well they wouldn't be hear too long.  Hopefully
T'grat would take them back when he and Greta returned.

Of course she had stopped thinking about Greta in that way .. she supposed
she could the other too if she really had to get to now them.

Farr'in returned and she smiled at him, not wanting her frown to make him
think she was unfriendly towards newcomers or anything.

>"I'll keep all you've told me in mind," she said at last. "But in the mean
>time why don't I go over with you the things happening around here. And
>get you together with a patrol team for the time being .. ."

He nodded and she explained to him about finding Galen. And about the
possibility of bandits in the area. "We are taking a group out to search
the area where Galen was found this afternoon. You are welcome to join my
patrol group this time.  There will be four of us. Myself and my partner,
Jahn .." she tired not to spit out the name, but found it nearly
impossible. "And another new rider to Norwall, Kalirna."

He nodded, "That sounds great."

"We may also be taking a non-rider. The one I told you about, Galen. He may
remember things there that might help us." She shrugged, "Though he's been
pretty closed mouthed.. he may not help us."

NRPG: I know this isn't much, but I wasn't completely sure on who was going
with us. Is Maeve still with us?? John is Galen gonna wanna go.

I figure the hatchlings haven't started flying yet.. right? So they'll miss
out on this one. Have I missed anyone?

Ismail .. you are welcome to join us as well ...

Also John, I sorta skipped the trip to the med center.. so if you want to
add to that feel free. I can always backpost a little if need be.. or we
can keep going. I'm flexible :)
