[DL-N] Ready For Patrol

With the first meeting with the Wingleader over and the morning patrol set
up, Farrāin stood up to make his good-byes.
"Iāll look forward to meeting with you and the others on the green in a
bit," he told her, his lips curved up into a slight smile. "Itāll be good to
get back into a regular wing after all this time."
"Iām glad youāre looking forward to it," Meena replied. "So what do you plan
on doing until then? If you need someone to show you around the Warren, Iād
be happy to have someone help you out."
"Thanks," he said meaning it. "But Tergath has been talking to the other
dragon about empty apartments and he thinks heās found the perfect one for
us. So Iāll be spending the time moving in. Maybe later Iāll take you p on
that offer."
"Well I hope the one he picked out suits you both," she grinned and he
wondered about the twinkle in her eye.
"You and me both," he frowned. "I told that bag of bones to behave himself
and be polite when he asked, so I guess when I see the place Iāll know if
heās been forgiven for his first impression here."
With that he saluted her and took off. Tergath was waiting outside the hall
for him and they both took the short ride back to the ground level apartment
heād spent the night to collect his stuff.
"We buddy," he thought as everything was loaded up and he remounted the
brown for the flight up to their new home. "I guess this means weāre truly
going to stay."
"It would have been better to stay at Cleft with our family," the brown
complained softly. "But I will always go with you, and if you think this is
best I will try to be happy. Besides there are some very fine female dragons
here in our new home."
"that there is my life long friend," the rider grinned. "That there is."

The apartment, when they finally landed on the ledge, proved to be just
fine. It wasnāt all that roomy on the inside, but the dragons ledge proved
acceptable to Tergath. That all Farrāin cared about.
He didnāt need that much space himself, planning on only being here to sleep
and maybe once in a while get away, but he was used to being around large
groups of people. Hence his large family, and it might take some time to get
over not being able to see them every day.
Some thing else he laid the blame for at the feet of the Cleft Warrenlady.
They had just enough time to unpack the bulk of his things when Tergath told
him the others were starting to meet on the green. So remounting his dragon,
Farrāin gave the order to head on down to meet the others.
When they arrived, he noticed the Wingleader was already there, as well as a
few others he didnāt know. One of them was the young man Galen who would be
going with them.
Right away, being a weapons man himself, the rider noticed the sword the
young man had with him, and knew by looking him over that the man knew how
to use it. Maybe, he thought heād have to ask this Galen if heād like to get
together some time for a work out. He didnāt want his own skills with the
sward to get slack.
"Well I see youāre all ready," Meena was saying as she came up to him and
was eyeing his get up. "Iām not sure what weāll find there but I want you to
be ready and alert for anything."
"Oh youāve no needs to worry about me there," he grinned. "Donāt think
youāll need to worry about him either." He pointed towards the other man.
"He has the look of one who knows how to get things finished once theyāve
started."
"yes well.. weāll see," she agreed, her eyes briefly taking in the other
man. "Shall we mount up and head out?"
"Just give the orders," he replied, bowing slightly from the waist. "You
lead Iāll follow."
