[DL-N] Misinterpretations (slight backpost)

[Zera]

"I'll stay away from the other rooms. I intended no disrespect.
My condolences to the parents of those children, and to the rest of
you for living in a place like this."

Zera couldn't help it... she began laughing.

"Compassion? From LandBound nobles? You're joking, right?" She
fought to get her giggles under control. "You pity us for living
here? Better you pity the LandBound nobility that breeds such
monsters that would poison children, for it was not one of us that
did this."

He stopped. "What? It was not someone here?"

"No. It is rare for the Warren to breed such a one as D'gerrit."
Her eyes closed. "No, it takes a LandBound monster to poison
children. I am not familiar with -- Albenith? -- poisoning, and I
regret to say that it is the antidote that causes those children such
pain." Her face whitened to bone. "I am the one putting them
through this so that they may live, and if you think there is no pain
in that, you are gravely mistaken."

"I mean no disrespect --"

"No offense taken." Zera opened her eyes. "Describe the
symptomology of this Albenith poisoning..."

He began, and Zera listened, slowly shaking her head. "Damn. I had
hoped..."

"What?"

"That perhaps your antidote might work better or faster, with less
pain... But..." She shook her head. "Ylthredrin is itself almost
painless until it's mixed with a host of anti-nausea medications...
Even then, the victim usually feels little until the final stages...
Which is why it's so hard to treat. Usually you don't know that it's
in the system until far too late to do anything about it... It's a
slow method of killing, but it is often very, very sure..."

The screams slowly died out and Zera sighed. The next round wasn't
scheduled to begin until the next morning. She hoped the blood tests
would show that they didn't need so much of the Goldenrose/Tarenal
combination.

"As for your good wishes, I will convey them to the children's
father. I will, however, ask that you return to your room -- the
night staff has enough to worry about without you wandering the
halls."

NRPG --
Sorry, David, but what your character described of Albenith doesn't
match the symptoms of Ylthredrin poisoning as previously laid out...
as it is, it's the antidote that's doing this, not the poison.

Ben, Zera should be off shift just after this conversation, so...
over to you...

*hugs*
