Day 7 -- Evening


Aurianna had been edgy all day and she had no clue
why, but she'd noticed that Darrkon seemed rather
nervy as well.  It was so bad that Aurianna had gone
back to her rooms after lunch and gotten both her
dagger and a well-crafted, slim-bladed sword.  The
dagger was strapped to her leg and the sword was
hanging in a sheath from her belt.  It was now after
dinner and she was sitting in the dining hall, playing
softly.  Suddenly, she heard dragons bellowing
outside.

<~Alora, what is it?~> she called to her dragon.

<~Wraiths~> was the angry reply she received.

<~Meet me outside the dining hall~> Aurianna sent back
to her dragon.

<~I'm already on my way.  Hurry 'Anna, Darrkon and
Calindeth are about to leave~>

Aurianna ran out of the dining hall, thanking whatever
gods were listening that she'd been wearing riding
leathers.  She vaulted into her spot astride Alora's
back with a practiced ease that even many accomplished
acrobats would envy.  As soon as the sea-green dragon
got the image from Calindeth, she launched into the
air and vanished from sight.

Aurianna and Alora reappeared with the rest of Alpha
Wing and split off with Darrkon and Calindeth.  As the
battle against the Wraiths progressed, Aurianna was
impressed with the way her dragon and Darrkon's worked
together.  It was like they'd been training together
since they'd hatched.  

It was actually very impressive to watch.  The grey
dragon and the sea-green one guarding eachother so
well that not even one wraith got through to harm
either one.  Or it would have been impressive, had
there been anyone to watch.

Aurianna was beginning to share in her dragon's
exhilaration at destroying the wraiths, but she was
puzzled at Calindeth's sudden change of tactic.  Then
the ball of flame erupted, momentarily blinding her. 
<~What the heck was *that*?!~> she asked Alora.

Alora rumbled with the equivalent of dragonic
laughter.  <~Calindeth's magick~>
