NRPG:  With many heartfelt apologies, I'm going to
jump ahead with this post to the present day we're on.
 I am *so* sorry about not responding to tags, but the
RL monster attacked me and I've only just now killed
it. 



Day 6
Evening

~Aurianna~

Aurianna had just had Alora land outside the dining
hall and was about to dismount when she heard a
familiar voice calling.  "Lady...lady dragonrider..." 
She turned her head and looked around from her vantage
point on Alora's neck and saw a young man running
toward her.  Closer examination revealed him to be
Korin, the young man she and Darrkon had brough back
from Ravensvale.  She smiled.  "Hello Korin."

Korin skidded to a stop at Alora's side.  "Hello lady.
 Can I help you down?"

Aurianna chuckled softly.  "That won't be necessary,
but thank you.  And call me Aurianna.  I'm far from
being a lady.  But you can catch this fiddle for me so
I can dismount without worrying about dropping it." 
When Korin nodded and held out his arms, she dropped
the fiddle case into them, then dismounted gracefully.
 "Thank you lad.  I'd hate to have anything happen to
this instrument."

Korin beamed at her.  He was still surprised that
she'd remembered his name.  "Oh it was no problem
la--, I mean, Aurianna."

Aurianna smiled.  "Well, since my usual companion
seems to have deserted me thisevening," she winked at
Korin to show she was joking, "I'd be most pleased if
you'd join me for dinner.  I'd like to hear how you've
been getting along here."

Korin nodded enthusiastically.  "I'd like that alot."

"Well then, let's head inside."  Aurianna loosely
placed an arm around the boys shoulders and led him
inside.

After the two of them had gotten food from Uncle,
Aurianna led Korin over to a table.  "So," she said
around a mouthful, "How have they been treating you?"

Korin swallowed.  "Very nicely.  Much better than I
would've been at home.  They've been teachin' me an'
the others about dragons an' such for if we join at
the hatching."  

Aurianna nodded.  "I'm glad you're getting on well
with the others and adapting to Warren life well. 
Lots of folks don't adapt well at all.  They have all
kinds of preconceived notions about Warrenfolk and
can't seem to get past any prejudices they might
have."

Korin smiled shyly.  "Truth is, I've always wanted to
be a dragonrider.  I used to dream about it.  This is
a dream come true for me."

Aurianna smiled and was about to say something when
the bard, Antwin, began playing.

Aurianna smiled as she watched Antwin and the woman
Talli leave.  She'd seen this happen often enough when
traveling with her family.  However, it seemed that
many of the other occupants in the room were still in
the mood for music.  Someone spotted her and hollered,
"Hey...Aurianna right?  You got that fiddle of yours
with you?"

Aurianna smiled.  "Yes, I've got it."  She turned to
Korin.  "It would appear I'm in demand."  She opened
up the case, checked the tuning, and drew the bow
quickly across the strings, striking a chord.  She
quickly moved into a lively dance tune and soon some
of the tables were shoved out of the way and several
couples were dancing.  Korin watched it all,
spellbound.  Aurianna watched as well, over her
instrument.  Her eyes were sparkling merrily, then she
stood and began to dance while she played, weaving her
way around the dancing couples.
