>She made it to the doorway of her bedroom before everything that had been
in her stomach was there no longer. Between embarassment, frustration, and
still feeling ill, she began to cry.

K'Tarr came up quietly behind her and placed his hand gently on the base of
her neck. "I think you might have had too much wine."

Despite herself she laughed. "I think your right." She half laughed, half
sobbed.

K'Tarr gently pulled her golden hair back from her face. He smiled
compassionately at her and carefully carried her over to the bed. The room
was still spinning, but Kalena felt much better now.

"Oh K'Tarr, I hope I haven't made you think anything bad about me?" Kalena
looked sadly up at him, almost as if she would burst into tears again.

"Why would I do that?" He said as he gently laid her down and pulled her
comforter up over her.

"Because, I· I drank too much and· and I· vomited and -"

"Shh. Don't worry. Just rest." He laid a hand on her shoulder and pushed her
down against the pillows. He quickly stood and left her bedroom.

The room wasn't quite spinning anymore for Kalena. Just shifting back and
forth. For a moment she thought she would be sick again, and she thought
about calling for K'Tarr. It seemed like he had been gone forever. What if
he doesn't come back? She thought.

Then the painted hunter returned with a tall cup of cool water and a damp
cloth. He sat down on the side of the bed beside Kalena and helped her sit
up. "Drink this," He said. "It'll help."

Kalena sipped the cool water as K'Tarr laid the cloth across the back of her
neck. "Now, just rest here. I'll clean things up."

K'Tarr went back to the small kitchen to see if he could find anything to
clean up the mess. "Thank-you K'Tarr," Kalena called weakly and drunkenly
from her bedroom. "You're so nice to me·"

K'Tarr laughed to himself gently and went to find a bucket.

Day 7 - Late Morning

The sunlight seemed a little brighter than normal the next morning. Kalena's
head was pounding before she even realized she was awake. She let out a low
moan.

"Does that mean you're awake?" Hilda asked with a laugh.

Kalena looked over to see her friend sitting in a chair by her bed. She
pulled the covers over her head, then remembered last night. "K'Tarr!"

"He came to get me earlier in the morning. He said he had to get to his wing
leader for duty, but he asked if I would sit with you." Hilda smiled. "He
was here all night."

Kalena looked at Hilda blearily. "Nothing happened, Hilda."

[NRPG - K'Tarr couldn't take advantage of someone like that anymore than he
would shoot a wounded or lame animal· although he certainly doesn't see
Kalena in the same light! ;} ]
