[DL-N] On the prowl

Day 10 evening

Cat wandered back from the dining room alone. Back at her apartment,
she walked through to Anthra's quarters and gave the glossy black
dragon a rub on the side of her chin, just where she liked it.

<Have you seen Kaymann, lizard?>

<<I don't answer to insults, ape-woman>> retorted the dragon.

<Ooh, ape-woman! That's very good!> replied Cat, sarcastically. <Did
one of the other dragons help you come up with that?>

<<No. It's just that you waste so much of your time with that no-good
mate of yours that *I* have plenty of time for thinking...>>

<So - have you seen him?>

<<Yes>>

<And are you going to tell me?> Cat wondered why getting any kind of
information out of Anthra always had to be so difficult.

<<He left with Brazen's rider>>

<He LEFT!> Cat spluttered.

<<Yep, left>> replied the dragon, smugly. <<Looks like they didn't
want you with them>>

Cat chewed her lip, angrily. Kaymann and Mentorn must have *known*
she'd want to be involved in whatever they were up to.

<<I'll tell you where they went, if you like...>> Anthra interupted
her rider's poisonous thoughts. <<That male was never worthy of
you,>>

<Thanks, Anthra> replied Cat, not noticing that she'd used the
dragon's real name for a change. <For once I'm tempted to agree with
you. OK, where then...>

**************

Minutes later, dressed head to foot in black, with a hooded cloak
covering her head, Cat slipped out, spitting mad, and still
muttering...

"If those sneaky, low-down bastards think I'm going to miss out on
this they've got another think coming..."

Respectfully submitted
