(Morning, Day 11)
<snip>
**Tell her in most cases she may be right, But we need to find out for sure. Tell her she can come with us, but I'm taking her.**
<end snip>
< My rider is going to take your rider anyway, > M'kel told Nikita apologetically. < Try not to bite him to hard please? >
< Well perhaps you should have more control over him, > Nikita hissed back. < If he hurts her in any way. >
* Nikky love, * Rei told her dragon tiredly, * just let it be, okay? *
< I still don't like it, > her dragon grumped. < Do these humans know what they're doing? >
< The other dragons say they do, > M'kel offered, < so I suppose they must. >
< I suppose, > the other dragon replied with a sigh, uncurling her tail so Clainn could get to Rei. Since he rider had started not feeling well, the orange and black dragon had been feeling strangely tense and irritable, often as not taking it out on any dragon nearby. It was not that she wanted to, more than she needed an outlet for her feelings.
There was a light rush of wind outside. Nikita looked up to see the green-blue form of M'kel alighting on the apartment ledge.
< I thought you might like someone to snuggle with, > he said, eyeing the tiger-striped dragon carefully. After not getting a response, he shuffled over and lay down beside her. After a moment, Nikki wrapped her tail around his and moved over, tucking her head in next to his. M'kel breathed a small sigh of relief: Nikita was strange sometimes, but her rider had been nice to his, so he supposed he could put up with a few of her quirks.
Clainn, on the other hand, was wondering how long he could stand Rei's apparent indifference to her own condition. It wasn't as if she didn't know she was sick, she just didn't seem to care.
Walking in the doors of the med center, Clainn began searching for someone who could help him. Everyone seemed to be busy, running from one room to the other tending patients or engaged in some other activity.
Finally he managed to attract someone's attention long enough to explain what was wrong and the fact that the girl in his arms was indeed sick. The nurse ushered him into an empty room and made him lay Rei down on the bed so she could be checked out. The nurse made a few cursory checks, asking Rei some questions (that didn't get her far, since monosyllabic 'yes' and 'no' answers didn't help a great deal). Finally, the nurse called in someone else and the two of them stood in the doorway conversing in whispers, while Clainn sat in a chair beside the bed.
"Sorry young man," the nurse said to him, "but we're going to have to ask you to leave for the time being."
"Will she be okay?" Clainn asked worriedly, reluctant to just leave Rei here alone.
"She'll be fine," the nurse said with a smile, a fake one by the look of it. "We'll let you know when you can come back." And with a firm shove, she pushed Clainn out of the room and closed the door.
(Dianne, now he's worried :)

(Midmorning Day 12)
<snip>
< My rider? Wingleader S'ron, wishes to speak to you, but doesn't want to frighten you. Would it be alright if he came to sit with us? > Prayer asked ever so quietly.
* Yes my love, he may join us. *
<end snip>
S'ron strolled up from his position not far away, keeping an eye on Alexandria as he did so. She seemed to be an extremely shy girl, preferring to be alone with her dragon rather than socialising with the other trainees. While this wasn't entirely healthy, he couldn't exactly force her to mix with the others.
Still, he wanted to find a place for her in the warren and the best way would be to talk to her about it first.
"I hope I'm not disturbing you," he told her, once he had come into view and Alex had seen him. She placed the book she had been reading into her lap and looked at him calmly.
"No, not really," she replied softly. "Prayer said you wanted to speak to me?"
"Yup," S'ron said, taking a seat on a rock opposite her. "You may have heard the rumours going around that your training is almost finished. Well, they're true. I'm meeting with K'tarr this afternoon to decide what to do with you all."
"That's good news," Alexandria replied, her head bowed and eyes downcast.
"Well, it is for most of you," S'ron said, leaning forward and studying her. "My main concern is putting everyone in a position in which they are comfortable with and can contribute to the warren as best they can. When I was looking over your reports.well, I'm in a bit of a quandary as to what to do."
"I don't want to cause any trouble," Alexandria whispered. S'ron smiled at her.
"You're not causing any trouble and don't let anyone tell you that. You just need something to do that you feel okay with. I've got a few ideas that I'd like to run by you to see how you feel about them, but I don't want you to feel pressured into accepting any of them just because I'm asking you, okay?"
Alexandria looked up at him, a faint smile touching her lips. Seeing her smile for what must have been the first time, S'ron was startled over just how beautiful she was.
< Getting twitchy are we? >
* Shut up you, * S'ron shot back. * And don't you dare get any ideas. *
< Who me? > Makron's tone was innocent, his thoughts anything but. < I can't imagine why you would say such a thing. >
* Just don't okay? I don't want you corrupting certain young dragons with things they don't need to know just yet. *
< You're just no fun at all, > Makron observed.
* I may not be, but I'm serious. *
< Whatever. >
"Sorry," S'ron returned his concentration to the woman in front of him. "My dragon was being pretentious."
"Prayer is never like that," she replied dutifully, glancing briefly at her dragon. S'ron chuckled.
"I'm sure she isn't," he remarked with wry look. "Well not yet anyway. Now, let's see if we cant come up with something for you."

NRPG: Short, but I don't want to advance things too much, since Carina and Peter are still back on day 10. It would be nice if everyone was on the same day when the fighting starts *hint hint nudge nudge*
