Day 17
The Travelers sat in a semi-circle, their blue robes back in
place hiding the weapons they had wielded. Fingers flickering
quickly, they "spoke" amongst themselves.
<Those men that attacked us were not very well trained.>
signed the silver sashed Ahktor.
<It was rather pitiful. They did not once break our circle.>
responded Imani.
<I exerted myself more after the battle than I did during.>
smirked the swaggering Sutek.
Imani shot him a glare, <Have you had the chance to explore
any other cultural avenues, or are you just content with probing this
particular aspect.>
Sutek smiled broadly before signing back, <I shall do my duty
as is required, but I am permitted to have favored activities that I
may return to as I choose.>
Ahktor looked at both of them, shaking his head in warning,
<Let this go for now, both of you. There will be time for bickering
later. Right now is an ideal time to observe, to see how this
culture reacts when a crisis has been averted. I do not expect that
this warren's assailants will return anytime soon. They were beaten
badly and must have time to lick their wounds before they begin anew.>
Vodon nodded, <A wise suggestion. I am curious to see what
herbal medicines they use to treat the wounded. With your leave^.>
Ahktor made a dismissive gesture and Vodon stood and departed
for the medical center to watch. Imani also stood and left, moving
alongside the green sashed Traveler, her fingers flashing in earnest,
<When do we present our declaration to Ahktor?>
<Soon, Imani. We have a duty as Travelers that we must
fulfill and this is an opportune time to see these warrenfolk in
adverse circumstances.>
<There are times where I think you are too dedicated to your
duty, Vodon.> came the crisp response from Imani.
Vodon chuckled aloud, <This coming from the Protector, whose
takes her duty far more serious than even Ahktor knows. You throw
stones in a glass house, Imani.>
Imani shook her head, <Only because I am in your presence.
You cloud my thoughts Vodon. Make the presentation soon, so that we
do not have to wait any longer.>

<Day 17 ^ Med Center ^ Landon>
Landon was nearly overcome as Jasmine pulled his hands to her
chest. He felt as though she was finally out of the wood and relief
flooded through his fatigued body. He sat there for a few minutes
with his eyes closed, feeling her warmth against his. Opening his
eyes, he gently removed his hands from her and stood up, stumbling
into the solid form of Vladiggor, the relief flushing the adrenaline
pumping through his veins.
Putting a hand out to steady himself, he made his way out of
the room, the massive form of Vlad following him out.
**Hey, you need some food and some rest. You've been
beating yourself up pretty bad. `Course, she is pretty good in bed,
so I guess I can understand that.**
<Vlad, when I recover from this ordeal, remind me to kick
your ass.>
**Nah, I don't think so. Your so hungry and tired, as soon
as you get fed and rested, you'll forget all about wanting to kick my
butt.**
<No, I think I can rem^.>
Landon fell forward, exhaustion overwhelming him
momentarily. Vlad's head snaked quickly down, neatly plucking Landon
up and holding his rider by his shirt. With more grace than usual,
Vlad stuck his head back in the room, depositing him back in his
chair, nudging him gently to wake him up.

Day 17 ^ In the Garden ^ late afternoon
D'lion looked at the young one who was crying, a pleading
look on her face. D'lion raised a draconic eyebrow and let out a
sigh, **Dargis? We've got a problem.**
<Okay, I'll be right there.>
The diminutive dragon reached down and gingerly picked up
Dizzi, bringing her over to where Dargis was jogging over.
**Something bit her. I think it was a bee?**
Dargis made a motion and D'lion placed Dizzi back on the
ground. Dargis knelt down and took a look at the arm where the
beesting was, "So a bee stung you?"
Dizzi's quivering lip and vigorous nod confirmed his
assumption. Peering closed at the angry red rash, Dargis cast about
him, finding what he was looking for. Reaching down, he pulled up a
small, spiked plant. Taking his other hand, he broke one of the
small spikes off and broke it in half. A greenish gel oozed out of
the spike and Dargis dabbed the gel on the wound, "Does that feel
better?"
Dizzi ceased sniffling, "Uh-huh. What is that stuff. It
cool and tingly."
"Well, lots of people call it different things, but I like
the name Numbyroot. It helps stop pain for a little bit. Now lets
go see Lilliana so she can get you fixed up good," Dargis said with
a smile.
