{Day 14 Early Evening in the Dining Hall}
Breezy sat at the table nursing a cup of cold coffee going over the
events of the day. It had been a busy one and she was looking forward to
a relaxing dinner with Galen. She enjoyed his company, in a way he was
kind of a kindred spirit and found him easy to talk to. The redhead was
so deep in thought that she didn't even hear him approach until he
spoke.
"So you going to fill me in on how you and Selena know each other?" came
the deep voice next to her ear.
Breezy jumped almost dropping the cup in her lap, turning she found she
was almost nose to nose with the soldier. A smirk crossed her face then
her blue-green eyes grew wide with innocence.
"Noooo!" Breezy said sweetly batting her huge eyes coyly.
Galen chuckled as he sat down, "Now why did I have the feeling you were
going to say that."
"Are you willing to spill the beans on what you and S'ran said to the
Dragonlady to get me back here so quickly?" Leaning back in her chair
Breezy grinned. "She was sputtering you know, I think there was
something in there about pig-headed males. She doesn't do that very
often so you two must have definitely made an impression on her."
The big man returned the grin remaining silent.
Breezy chuckled, "I thought not!"
Just then Delilah sauntered up with two full plates, nodding to the
redhead she then dismissed Breezy as inconsequential. But it was a
captivating smile she turned on Galen. "Your dinner Sir!" came the soft
very feminine voice.
Breezy's eyes danced with laughter at the look on the man's face. She
almost choked when Delilah leaned over to hand Galen his plate. It was
obvious he had a birds eye view of certain areas of the woman's anatomy
as his eyes were bulging slightly.
Sucking in her lips Breezy looked down at her plate having a hard time
controlling the laughter that threatened to bubble over. Glancing up
through her long lashes she watched as Galen's head never moved but his
eyes followed the swaying hips as the dark-haired woman walked away.
Taking a drink of her coffee a knowing smile came to her lips, "It's
nice to see you are human after all Galen! She is very beautiful!"
The soldiers attention snapped back instantly to the redhead and his
cheeks reddened slightly. The man looked for just an instant like a
little boy caught with his hands in the cookie jar and the look on
Breezy's face let him know this. Clearing his throat Breezy watched
Galen quickly begin wolfing down the food keeping his averted eyes to
his plate.
Controlling her amusement the Sr. Wingleader said, "Seriously Galen, as
to your question about Selena and I, well let's just say we come from
another lifetime that I'd prefer not to discuss. But she's a damn good
soldier you couldn't do much better! I heard what she did with the
homeguard, pretty impressive!"
She saw the broad shoulders relax a bit as he finally glanced up,
obviously relieved to have the subject changed. Galen almost choked on
his food when S'ran appeared out of nowhere slapping him on the back,
"Well I see you've met Uncle's niece. She's a beauty but definite
trouble!"
S'ran grinned as he sat in the empty chair then winked at Breezy and
that's all it took for the redhead to bust out in laughter. Unable to
contain her mirth the giggling redhead managed to finish her coffee then
rising from the table said, "Gentleman, I do have some paperwork to
finish so I will leave you now to your manly talk."
On her way out she saw the dark-haired woman coming from the kitchen
with a tray of food and the giggling only increased as the redhead
walked out the door for some reason feeling extremely pleased with
herself.
{Tag: Ben - just thought a little fun was in order!}
[..] Day 14 Later that evening on the green
Talking to Dizzi Breezy had kept a watchful eye on the robed strangers,
from the direction she saw the guard go, the redhead guessed he was
going to get Jeneve.
<Snip>
"That's you, me, Snow, and Coo!" Dizzi told her," And we're all smiling
because we're happy to be together!"
<End Snip>
Dizzi's words sunk in and Breezy stared hard at the little girl feeling
a lump in her throat. Then scooping her up in a tight hug the redhead
said, "Dizzi you are the sweetest thing. This is the most beautiful
picture I have ever seen and it will have a special place in my office.
Thank you so much!"
[Awwww you too are soooo cute!] Coo gushed. [I really do hate to break
this up but Malani's rider is requesting your presence to meet the
newcomers!]
Setting the little girl down Breezy said, "Sweetie I need to help the
Warrenlady now. Can you do me a favor and hold onto this picture until
later I don't want it to get wrecked."
The little girl grinned and nodding rapidly she hugged the Sr.
Wingleader's legs then skipped off towards her waiting Aunt.
*You know Coo, there is something about them that seems familiar but I
can't quite place it.* Seeing Jeneve leaving the offices Breezy moved
to meet her and the two women walked towards the strangers.
[I don't think we have ever met them before, have we?]
*Well from the looks of them I doubt very much they hang out in the same
circles dragonriders do!* the redhead answered thoughtfully.
Chuckling filled her mind, [Boy could I have fun with that one! And just
what kind of circles do drag.....]
Pursing her lips Breezy snorted, *Don't be smart!*
[I am smart, smarter than you! I keep telling you that but you won't
listen!] came the haughty reply [By the way Malani also says her rider
is very nervous!]
Breezy sputtered, *Since you're so smart tell me something I don't
know!*
Coo returned the snort and fell silent.
Walking said by side the two woman approached following the guard.
Something about this group niggled at the back of Breezy's mind and it
was really starting to bug her. The guard stepped aside and Breezy
stepped forward slightly her eyes taking in every detail of the strange
group. Not one of them was under six feet and with standing next to
Jeneve who was also a lot taller Breezy instantly felt very small.
She noticed that they all had bright blue eyes and something clicked in
her mind. A flitting memory of a previous conversation, the raspy
voice of an old man floated through her mind "Them eyes was the
damnedest thing I ever did seen!"
"Welcome to Norwall! I'm Breezy the Sr. Wingleader here." The redhead
said formally, showing little emotion she reached out to shake hands
with the one in with the silver sash. Just by the way he carried himself
she was sure he was the leader of the group. Stepping slightly aside,
"And this is our Warrenlady Jeneve." Breezy felt rather than saw the
guard tense ready for anything.
The stranger with the silver sash bowed low then reached out to shake
her hand. "We come in peace and wish to seek an audience with your
Warrenlady." Then looking at Jeneve he bowed. "M'Lady, we are Seekers
of Knowledge and are hope is to learn more of the Dragon riders we have
heard so much about. We are called the ..."
"Traveler's" Breezy and Silver said in unison.
The tall leader looked at Breezy, "You know of us?"
The redhead's lip curved up in a half-smile and she nodded, "I have
heard a few stories, some were....shall I say a little unbelievable."
Jeneve glanced at Breezy who smiled slightly and visibly relaxed.
Obviously seeing Breezy relax spurred Jeneve to speak.
"You must be tired after your travels. The guard will show you a place
to rest and our dining hall has wonderful food. Please accept our
hospitality and we can meet later."
Breezy almost grinned at Jeneve, turning her head slightly she winked at
the taller blonde. *Coo, tell Malani that her rider is doing gr.......*
[I'm already one step ahead of you!] came the dragon's very bored
answer.
As the guard motioned for the robed group to follow him, Breezy said
staring at the silver sashed leader, "I do believe it would be safe to
return their weapons to them."
The man nodded in thanks and the group walked off after the guard.
{Tag: Carina & Chris if you wanna add something here. Chris I hope I got
them ok!}
{Day 15 Late Afternoon}
Breezy was at the Blacksmith's working with the smithy to fit the
special belly armor that she had commissioned for Coo. The sparkly
dragon was in one of her moods and was not making it easy for them.
[I don't like it! It clashes with my beautiful color!] snapped the
iridescent dragon as she fidgeted around.
*Well just too bad! If you would stand still for a second it wouldn't
take so long!* Breezy retorted.
[It itches!] Coo said in a huff using her tail to wiggle the rest of her
body.
The blacksmith looked helplessly at Breezy. *Coo please, just let us
finish!* The redhead sighed and rolling her eyes returned the man's
look.
[I don't like it!] Coo stomped her large foot and snorted a cloud of
steam at the two humans.
Breezy stood feeling the warm cloud surround her and her patience came
to an end. Grabbing the cinch she jerked it tightly causing the
iridescent dragon to grunt from the sharp pressure. "Listen Sister!" the
redhead said aloud through clenched teeth. "I don't have time to mess
around with this. You don't like it, just too damn bad. Hopefully it
will save that happy ass of yours one of these days." Before the dragon
could reply Breezy added as she walked underneath the dragon checking
the light metal links. "I imagine your blood would go quite well with
your 'beautiful' color don't you. Just a few well placed arrows to this
soft belly here and maybe here...." she said poking hard at a couple of
spots on Coo's underside, "should do the trick don't you think."
Coo froze instantly and stood quietly as Breezy and the man walked
around her checking the fittings of the light armor. Breezy looked
underneath the back legs and saw the blacksmith grinning slyly at her.
Grinning back she was distracted by loud yelling. After a stern thought
to the greenish dragon to stay put Breezy went to see what the commotion
was about.
Pushing through the crowd she found Amy in the process of throttling an
old man. It was obvious something was terribly wrong for Amy to lose
such control. Having to push the issue a bit to get the young woman to
back off Breezy told her to go home.
<Snip>
Amy looked at Breezy and Marssell. Then she thrust Marssell into the
wall then walked off in a huff.
<End snip>
Breezy stepped up to Marssell, "You know I don't know why, but I get
this feeling you're the infamous Marssell I've heard so much about."
Looking him up and down with distaste she said, "You know old man you've
been causing some problems around here and that's not real smart. I
could lock you up pending an investigation of your antics here at
Norwall. But now that I see you face to face, "You're nothing more than
an pathetic old man with delusions of grandeur. I know your type, you
get a little information in your pocket and you think you're a god."
Breezy snorted pathetically dismissing the man as nothing more than an
irritant." Breezy sneered at the man then turned to walk away, "I would
be real careful how far you take your fantasies, Marssell."
Arriving at Cassandra's Breezy stuck her head in the door of the small
shop. Dizzi was playing happily on the floor as the older woman searched
through piles of fabric. "Did Amy come in here?" Breezy asked.
"Hi Breezy!" Dizzi exclaimed running up for a hug from the redhead.
Cassandra looked concerned as she asked, "She just stopped by said she
was going for a walk to cool off. Is everything ok she looked kind of
upset."
The last thing Breezy wanted to do was upset Cassandra by mentioning
Link so she just nodded and said, "Oh she just had a little upset, a
walk will do her good." The older woman eyed Breezy suspiciously but
remained quiet and just nodded. The redhead half-smiled then
disentangled the child from her legs giving her a hug.
{Tag: Max - If you want to add anything here}
A light rap on the door turned out to be Olin wanting Dizzi to come
play. Seeing the chance for escape Breezy excused herself following the
children out the door.
Standing outside the small shop Breezy looked around hoping that Amy
might be nearby. Sighing she chewed her bottom lip, her thoughts turned
to the old man Marssell. From what she had heard his tactics were none
to subtle and just by Amy's reaction he's probably lucky he got off with
only a bloody nose. Breezy had heard it said once that the most
deadliest thing in the world was a woman protecting her own, and after
seeing the look on Amy's face Breezy was inclined to believe that. *And
men think we're the weaker sex* she thought, a light chuckle passing her
lips.
[..] a short while later on the green
Breezy stood next to Jeneve both woman standing silent as they watched
the dragons land on the green. The redhead watched in awe as the Wing
began to assemble. After all these years it still took her breath away
to watch the the organized chaos of some many dragons and riders coming
together. A sea of brilliant colors filled the area as dragon after
dragon landed completing the extensive formation.
Bluish-green eyes were thoughtful as they watched the man standing
alone, apart from the throng. Breezy had been tickled to death when
K'tarr had come through her door of his own volition. The redhead could
tell by the look on his face her office was the last place he wanted to
be. She'd had to practically hog-tie him in the Med-Center to get him to
come in and talk to Naomi and Jeneve. But the tattooed rider had
actually seemed slightly pleased when it was Naomi who did the honor of
promoting him to Wingleader. It was also obvious from his body language
now, that he was still angry but she wasn't sure at who, her, S'ron or
the world in general.
He was rather surprised when Breezy readily agreed to his plans. He had
thought his plans out well there was no reason not to. What K'tarr
didn't know was what Naomi had put in his files. She had seen the leader
in him when he had arrived despite his rocky beginnings. When Breezy had
mentioned his and Kalena's files that first day they both took offense
before giving her a chance to explain herself and of course her damn
temper had gotten the better of her the instant the tiny woman
bristled. So they never knew that her motives weren't for blackmail as
Kalena had accused her.
The Sr. Wingleader had seen the same thing Naomi had even though her and
K'tarr had definitely gotten off to a rough start. Breezy chuckled
slightly at the remembrance, receiving a sideways glance from the
Warrenlady. The redhead looked back over to the man watching his face
closely. His face was calm without emotion but she could see the
nervousness he felt. Subtle little nuances gave him away. She could
sympathize completely though, facing the Wing as their leader for the
first time was overwhelming and Breezy remembered her first time being
where K'tarr was right now.
When he looked over at her and nodded Breezy almost winked at him and
bit back a smile of support. She figured it would probably freak him
out especially more coming from her. God forbid that he should think
she might be human.
His voice was calm as he addressed the large group but she could feel
his frustration. He had been handed a wing under the worst of
circumstances, a kidnapping, missing riders, a possible attack. Lord if
he could pull through this without losing his mind, he could he could
survive anything.
<Snip>
Finally, Link was taken prisoner by unknown assailants. Cloud returned
safely but the separation hasn't been easy on him.".
<End Snip>
Breezy saw the slight flash of uncertainty cross his face and he
hesitated. Stepping up next to him to promote a united front she
continued outlining his plan until she saw the calm return to his face.
The edge of her mouth tilted upward slightly as she glanced up at him,
then the short redhead stepped back allowing him to continue.
<Snip>
"Breezy, Jeneve, do you have anything else to add?" K'tarr asked the two
ladies.
<End Snip>
Breezy slightly shook her head. "I think you've pretty much covered
everything K'tarr." Looking at the taller woman next to her she said, "
Jeneve?" Breezy had already counseled Jeneve before they had even come
out. The older woman explained that because this was K'tarr's first
address as Wingleader she as Warrenlady needed to say a few words to
show her support of his new position. The young woman looked slightly
terrified as all eyes turned on her taking a deep breath the tall blonde
she stepped forward and began to speak.
{Tag: Carina - It's all yours now}
{Day 15 - Dusk Breezy's Office}
Breezy was sitting at her desk going over the lists and files of the
different riders. K'tarr had given them to her earlier with his
suggestions. They had agreed to keep everything as one wing until after
this present craziness was over. Of course with splitting the wing
another wingleader would have to be selected and K'tarr had already
given her his recommendations, but that would be shelved for the
moment. Breezy was extremely pleased by the rapid way things were
falling into place with the change over of the Wing. She was even more
surprised by the tattooed man's quick organization of things. There was
definitely a lot more to the quiet man than people realized. But, if
she was any judge of character K'tarr was going to surprise a lot of
people in the coming days.
<Snip>
"Sound the alarms! Rogues! We're under attack!"
<End Snip>
Breezy flew out of her chair as the alarm went up, *Sister, find the
Bard NOW!* Strapping on her weapons she headed for Jeneve's office.
She was surprised to see Antwin arrive at the door at the same time as
her and the two just nodded as they entered the Warrenlady's office to
find a very flustered pacing Jeneve.
"Wha..what's happening?" Jeneve asked her voice an octave higher than
normal.
Breezy and Antwin exchanged solemn glances but the redhead pasted on a
smile, "Just some rogues the wing will take care of it." The Sr.
Wingleader had already sent the message to Jeneve's queen if there was
the slightest problem to contact her and K'tarr immediately. "Don't
worry, Antwin will be here with you at all times. I have to go!"
The redhead was halfway out the door when Jeneve called after her,
"Breezy, do be careful!"
Breezy grinned and walked out.
{Tag: Wil - Wasn't sure what you had planned for Antwin but I figured he
was her protector so.....}
