[DL-N] So Much For A Quarantine!

{Day 15 Late night}
Lilliana was beside herself with worry. Several of her staff were down
ill and a few of the riders had come in as well, all with the same
symptoms. The trainer still was not doing well but she doubted very much
that the disease was the problem.
After running a battery of tests she still hadn't found a reason for the
mysterious ailment that somehow seemed to be spreading. She wasn't sure
at the moment whether it was airborne or being spread by contact. The
information she had compiled was too conflicting to go either way.
Rei was the worst of the group and the first to show any signs of this
strange disease. So the healer's thought was that the young woman was
obviously the carrier, but blood tests revealed nothing. She had not
regained consciousness since she had been brought in and any treatment
the older woman had tried, had little or no affect.
For the first time in a long time the Head Healer was baffled and her
only option was to transfer Rei to Tinobel, maybe the guild would have
some answers. They others that had fallen ill Had the same symptoms but
not to the same degree. If Tinobel could come up with some answers then
she might be able to get this under control before it got to far out of
hand.
If anything it would get the tiger striped dragon out of the med
center. Nikita's bad temper had grown progressively worse and her
refusal to leave her rider was making things difficult to say the least.
They had to put the woman in a special room big enough for the dragon to
be with her rider. The dragon had gotten so nasty with everyone when
they tried to put Rei in a regular room there hadn't been much choice.
Lilliana had tried everything to convince Nikita to stay in the large
area set aside just for the dragons, but it was to no avail, the dragon
wouldn't budge. The young rider Clainn was the only one that seemed to
be able to get through to Nikki in any way, but even he couldn't get the
striped dragon to leave her rider's side.
With several of her own people down, Nash even though ill himself still
continued to help the best he could. Making her last rounds for the
night the Head Healer finally came to a decision. They had to quarantine
the Med-Center until they could at least get some answers. Calling Nash
and any others workers that were able, Lilliana told them what she was
going to do.
In need of some fresh air anyway, Lilliana dug out the quarantine signs,
calling an aide to help her they went outside. They managed to post one
sign when the alarms went off.
Both Lilliana and the man stared in disbelief as strange soldiers poured
into the warren, the sound of swords coming together ringing in the
night. Grabbing her aide the two raced back inside, the last sign
dropped in the rush.
The Head Healer began barking out orders and even though they were
short-handed the Med-Center became a flurry of activity. She shook her
head, so much for the quarantine, with people running in and out this
could turn into a major disaster on top of the attack.
Lilliana almost knocked Clainn down as he came running out of Rei's
room. "You!" she said brusquely, "Go help the men get the doors
barricaded. I only want one entrance into this place that can be easily
defended if need be. Last thing we need is rogues bouncing through the
doors, but we have to be able to still get to the wounded."
Naomi stepped out into the hallway, her face was gaunt and her eyes
heavy with drug-induced sleep. Before she could say
anything......Lilliana bellowed, "And you get back in that bed, right
now!"
[..]
Lilliana shuffled patients around taking the ones with the mysterious
ailment and isolating them in a room away from the main area. She was
by the back door, the only one left open and wounded were already
appearing when a hysterical Cassandra appeared at the door.
The woman's face was streaked with tears, "Dizzi, I can't find Dizzi
anywhere! Is she here!"
Lilliana helped the woman to a stool motioning for a glass of water to
be brought. "Where did you last see her?"
"I thought she was in bed!" The seamstress sobbed, "When I went to check
on her, the bed was empty!" Gulping down the water the woman rose to
go.
Lilliana pushed the woman down, "You are staying right here! The last
thing we need is you running around out there and getting hurt!" The
Healer knew that the less civilians running loose was less things for
the riders to worry about. Feeling less confident than she sounded,
Lilliana said "I'm sure Dizzi is fine. We'll get a message to the guard
to keep a watch out for her and to bring her here if they find her.!"
"Oh no! I have to find her!" Cassandra pushed the woman away heading for
the door. A scream erupted from her throat as one of the rogue soldiers
appeared in the doorway.
