Girl Talk

Tahlaya was still up when Tera finally made it back to her
bed in the barracks. Somehow Tera thought she might be.
By the smile the other girl had on her face and the glint
shining in her hazel eyes, Tera knew she was in for some
question about her partner at diner.

"Sooo..." Tahlaya asked turning over onto her stomach,
resting her chin in the palms of her hands while looking up
at her friend. "Who was that 'to die for" man you walked out
of the dining hall with and where did you go? Did you do
anything I haven't had the time to try out yet?"  

"He's just a friend," Tera replied though she could feel her
cheeks turning red, "He's a Bard...or was going to be until
he joined with his dragon. We just practiced together," she
went on a little to quickly, but Tahlaya wasn't fooled.

"Just a friend, right!! Tell me another one," She giggled. "I
saw the way you were looking at him across the table. It
wasn't the main entree you were thinking about...It was the
dessert!! So what is he like?"  

This byplay was all new to Tera. She had never had a girl
friend to tell her secrets to before. But Tahlaya made it so
tempting. She really did want to talk to someone about the
way she was beginning to feel about Ga'brin. He was like no
other man she had ever come across before. He was kind
and sweet, his body was rock hard, yet his touch when he
had held her was so gentle.  And when he had kissed her!!
She sighed, remembering the way she had felt when his lips 
met hers. It was like nothing she had ever felt before.
Wonderful, exciting, explosive!!  WOW!!!

"Well?" Tahlaya repeated.

"He's wonderful!!" Tera sighed again, as she moved to sit
down on the side of her bed. "and the best looking man I've
ever seen. I still can't believe someone like him, who could
have his pick of any female in the warren wants to spend
time with me." 

Tahlaya laughed, "Girl friend have you looked in the mirror
lately? You're beautiful. Why I've seen the eyes of half the
men in the warren trailing after you when you walk by. The
man would have to be stupid or old not to notice you,"
she insisted while moving across the way to sit on the other
end of Tera's bed. "I heard..." she paused, "That his dragon
wins a lot of mating flights, and anyone of the women he
has mated with would love to be his mate, but he's never 
stayed with any of them afterwards."

Tera had heard about the mating flights. It just hadn't
crossed her mine that Ga'brin had had any part in them. Or
maybe she just let herself put it out of her mine. Either way
it was something she would have to learn to deal, with if she
want to share any part of his life.

She turned to look up at Tahlaya. "Did they say why?"
she wanted to know. Her good mood suddenly deflated. She
moved from the bed down onto the floor next to the
midnight blue dragon. Her dragon. And remembered that
one day in the near future, Sundellath too would rise to
mate.

Would Ga'brin's Preston be the one to win her, or would it
be another? 

<it'll be which ever dragon is worthy of me> came the smug
voice of Sundellath. 

Tahlaya saw the light fade from Tera's eyes. 'Oh boy, I've
gone and done it now' she thought to herself. She hadn't
ment her words to hurt the girl, only to reassure her. 

"The rider I was sitting with said he just hasn't found the 
right girl yet. She said the only time he shows any interest 
in a *younger* woman is during a mating flight. Seems he's 
kind of shy. That's why Sabrina thought it kind of strange 
seeing him with his arm around you," she giggled. "I think 
she was a little put out."

Tera thought about the *kiss*, this from a shy kind of guy? 
Ga'brin didn't seem all that shy to her. Maybe.....

"I met his mother this morning," Tera said changing the 
subject. "And his father this evening a dinner. Sarrine 
seemed like a real sweet person and Ga'brin looks just 
like his father.

"I'm sure they are wonderful people," Tahalya quipped. 
"But what about you and the 'son'? I think he likes you."

If someone had told Tera that she would one day be 
sitting here in the warren barracks talking to another 
girl about something like this, she would have laughed 
them off. But here she was and it really was nice to 
have someone to talk to. 

She took a quick glance around the room, Kay was sound a 
sleep laying with his back to the two of them .  Tahlaya's 
girls Eclipse & Sunburst were over next to her bed, she 
could hear their soft breathing is the still of the room. 

"Well I really hope he does like me," Tera turned back to 
face the other girl, the light was back in her green eyes. 
"because if he went around kissing other girls the way he 
kissed me tonight, I'd have to fight off a whole bunch of 
love starved females," she smiled at the shocked expression 
on Tahlaya's face before getting up and heading to the 
bathing room, only to stop and turn back into the room.

"Oh by the way we have a meeting right after breakfast with 
a rider named Gazella. She's supposed to fill us in on all 
the things we're supposed to know about life in the warren 
and what comes with being a female rider. Sound like sex to 
me," was her parting shot and then she continued on to the 
bathing room.

nrpg: Lea I hope the girls talk was okay. Tera will always 
be around if Tahlaya needs someone to talk to. 

 I must say, it's been kind of boring around here with 
everybody going on vacation at the same time :) But I hope 
everyone had fun!!!!

Sundellath wants to fly!! She thinks she's ready :)
