"What a Glorious morning," Tera thought to herself 
as she laid in bed the morning after the beach party. 
The happiness that had lulled her to sleep last night 
was still with her.

Ga'brin had actually asked her to be his mate. "And 
the mother of his children," she giggled to herself, 
and then took a quick look around the room to see 
if anyone else was awake yet. It wouldn't do to be 
seen acting this way she thought. But just like every 
other morning she seemed to be the first one to 
wake up.

>>Sundee are you awake yet?<< she asked her 
dragon.

<if I'm taking to you I must be awake> replied t
he blue. <and before you ask, yes I'm hungry>

Tera laughed,>>you're always hungry. You 
empty pit!!<<

<you still love me anyway> the smug thought 
entered her head.

>>well of course I do!! but if you want to eat 
before the others, we'd better get up now<< 
Tera said as she herself was rolling out of her bed. 
Gathering up her bathing towel and Sundellath's 
bottle of oil, she led the midnight blue dragon out 
to the hatchling pond.

>>you know,<< she said to the growing dragon.
>>pretty soon you won't be able to fit in this pond 
for a proper bath any more. You're growing so fast.<< 
she haft complained as she began to give Sundee a 
good oiling.

<By then we'll be flying and we can go to a bigger 
pond for my bath> reminding her human that the day 
would soon be here.

It was still early when they finished up with their 
morning routines. To early even for Tera to make 
the trip over to the dining hall for breakfast, so she 
went back inside, quietly picked up her guitar and 
snuck back outside, to where she could practice 
for a while.

Sometime later Sundellath informed her that 
Sabbith's rider was watching her, and Tera turned 
to see Kay sitting on a rock just out of her view. In 
his lap was his small writing slate and what looked 
like a piece of canvas. He was drawing something 
on it with a pencil.

*Good morning Kay* she signed and saw Kay's 
return greeting.

*Did you have fun last night?* Tera asked setting 
her guitar aside and motioned for Kay to come sit 
down in the spot in front of her.

She waited until he was seated and then asked him 
again. Both signing what she could and speaking the 
words, so he could read her lips.*Did you have fun 
last night?*

**Yes! ** he signed back, but his eyes didn't quite 
meet hers. **What I could *hear* form some 
peoples lips.**

Tera reached over to take his hand in hers, waiting 
to speak until she was sure he would see. "I'm so 
sorry Kay, you always seem to know what we're 
saying around here and during lesson's that I just 
forgot last night about your deafness. I'm sorry." 
she both spoke aloud and signed.

**That's okay** Kay signed back with a shrug.

*No it's not.* Tera signed back,* You're one of 
my first friends here and I didn't mean to hurt you. 
And don't you say I didn't. The look in your eyes
 tell me I did.**

*You are my friend and I know you wouldn't hurt 
me.* he signed back *But just for a little while last 
night, I was back at my uncle's farm. I had no 
friends there.* he went on telling her the best he 
could with his signs, how it was for him there. He 
told her of how good he felt when he came to the 
warren and how his life had changed for the better. 
It was just sometimes like last night in the crowd, 
that his mind slipped back in time. They talked 
about it for a little longer then Kay smiled all the 
sudden. 

*Who was that man you were singing with last 
night?* he signed, a big smile on his face. *You 
two seemed pretty friendly.* he teased.

Tera knew her face was turning red. Some of her 
old up bring was showing. What would Kay think 
of her if she told him the man she was with was 
going to be her mate. After all she hadn't known 
Ga'brin very long. Well it would come out sooner 
or later and she didn't want Kay to be upset with 
her for not telling him herself.

*His name id Ga'brin* she told him, *We're going 
to be mates as soon as Sundellath flies for the 
first time.*

**You love him?** Kay asked, his eyes searching 
as he looked into hers.

*Yes* Tera said simplely *I do*

Kay just smiled back and reached to give her a hug.
**I'm glad you found him then, I hope you'll be 
happy**

*Oh I will* she signed back. Meaning every word.

nrpg:   Kris, I just wanted to make it up a little to 
Kay for ignoring him last night. I hope it was okay. 
Tera really felt bad about it afterwards, but you'll 
have to forgive her :) her mind was else where *g*
