She flew!! She actually flew!! 

Well granted, Tera thought, it was only a 
hundred feet down the green, but her dragon 
had flown.

>>Oh Sundee you're such a clever dragon. I'm 
so proud of you<< Tera shouted as she ran down 
the green to intercept her wonderful dragon. 

>>You were magnificent.<< she was shouting and 
didn't care who heard her.

<I did okay> Sundellath gave a mental shrug. 
<I'll feel better about it when you and I can 
fly together> Excitement filled the midnight 
blue dragon's thoughts.

>>Oh Silly, so will I, oh so will I<< Tera 
replied as she hugged Sundellath, a feeling 
she couldn't quite describe settling over her, 
as she walked with her dragon back up the 
green to where the others stood

"Did you see her fly?" she signed to Kay, who 
was standing there with another of the new 
hatchling pairs. A girl and a two tone blue 
colored dragon with a black snout. Tera was
ashamed to admit, she couldn't remember the 
girls name, so she just smiled at the girl 
and turned to catch Kay's reply.

He signed his approval with a bemused 
expression on his face. "She did well, like 
my Sabbith. Soon you'll both be flying," a 
twinkle glinted in his eyes, a slow smile 
spread across his lips as he shared the 
inside joke with Tera. He was referring to 
something she had told him this morning.

Twin spots of color danced in her tan cheeks 
as she caught his double meaning. She saw the 
raised eye brow and the questioning look in the 
other girls eyes as she watched their exchange.

"You're bad," She quickly signed to Kay, 
laughing and then turned to the other girl.

"I'm Tera, Sundellath's human," she quipped, 
holding out her hand to the girl in a show of 
greeting.

"I'm Lyonnia," the other girl replied with a 
smile. "Slave of Dianthus." Her smile faltered 
for just a second, so quick that Tera thought 
she'd imagined it.

"I saw you at the meeting with Gazelle this 
morning," Lyonnia said.

Just then H'nry and Thomas came up to them to 
tell them the lesson was all but over for the 
day. Both men praised the hatchlings attempts 
today at flying and assured them that their 
dragons would be ready to fly with their 
riders soon.

Tera followed by Sundellath walked back to the 
Hatchling barracks with Kay and Lyonnia and 
their dragons, after they were dismissed to 
settle their dragons in for an afternoon nap. 
Tera then sought out Lyonnia and asked the 
girl if she'd like to have lunch with her.
