Before Practice

>"Kay" Danielle said "I wanted to tell you how wonderful I think it is,

that you joined."


Kay beamed, very proud of his dragon, and very happy to see the

beautiful

Danielle. He'd heard from the dragons about her new mate. He had heard

bits

and pieces about her former mate. Kay chose to believe the rumor that 

he

hadn't been very nice to the young woman. Kay had been inundated with

Warren rumors since joining with Sabbith. It seemed that most dragon's

loved to talk about the antics of their riders.


The also seemed to enjoy talking about them even when the rumors were

not

pleasant, like the once about Laria. The dragon's assured him the 

rumors

were true and it saddened him. Though he was glad to see that she had

seemed to move on with her life. She had certainly seemed happy last

night

at the beach party.


He was sure that Danielle's new mate must have been the man he'd seen

her

with the other day at breakfast. It hadn't really surprised him, though

he

was disappointed. A woman that beautiful couldn't possibly be mateless

for

long. Kay's landbound morals and sensibilities, which had little to do

with

warren life, told him that all women wanted a husband/mate.


>"I also wanted to tell you I want to continue out lessons" Danielle

said


Kay started to write something about practice on his board. He would

love

to continue her lessons, but with practice so soon ..


>"I know you have practice in just a few minutes. Just let me know

through

Violet when you have time, OK?" Danielle said


Kay nodded. He was glad that she wanted to continue her lessons. He 

been

giving impromptu lessons to Tera and Tahlaya during practices and meals

and

both had become very good. Talking with them, he rarely used his slate

at

all anymore.


>Danielle stood up to leave. As she did, she impulsively leaned towards

him

and kissed him on the mouth.


>"You don't mind, do you?" Danielle asked


Kay was plastered to the spot at the soft, warm touch of her lips, as

never

before felt sensations coursed through his body ..


<<Wow what was that!> he heard Sabbith call, but he was at a loss to

either

move or respond to his young dragonet.


"Kay?" asked Danielle at his silence, her brow wrinkled.


He nodded his head as a silly grin passed over his face. Danielle

chuckled

lightly and headed out leaving him to prepare for practice.


<<Kay? .. Kay? Are you alright?> asked Sabbith.


<<Yes, Sweet Sabbith, I'm fine.>


<<You should do that more often! I enjoyed that sensation from you.>

Sabbith

grinned happily. <<It was almost as nice as a hug from Sunburst and

Eclipse.> 


Kay turned to look at his dragon sitting a short distance away. He shook

his head, <<You are a silly dragon, Sabbith. She has a mate. She was just

being nice. I over reacted.>


<<Well, I still enjoyed it.> said the young dragon.

After Practice

Kay grinned at Tera's blush. It was nice to see the pretty woman so happy.

He hoped Danielle was that happy with her new mate. He pushed away the

disappointment trying to be happy for both of them.


He watched as Tera turned to talk to Lyonnia. She was one of his fellow new

riders that he hadn't gotten to know. She seemed very quiet and shy. As Kay

wasn't that much more outgoing, the opportunity just had not come up.

Lunch

****


"Tera!" Kay didn't hear Danielle's call, but he noticed her as soon as her

angel-like appearance came into view. He smiled as she approached their

table. She winked at him before turning to Tera, "I've got a few minutes

before I meet Dameon for lunch, and I just wanted to stop and say 'hi'."


"This is Lyonnia," said Tera introducing the two. Kay was surprised that

Lyonnia didn't seemed pleased to meet the dragonrider. He wondered what she

had against the woman.


Danielle must have felt the woman's hostility, as she gave her only a

haughty cursory glance and a nod. She then turned her gaze on Kay, "So when

are we meeting?"


*After I feed Sabbith?* Kay signed, then wrote the same thing on the slate

for her.


Danielle grinned, "Good, I look forward to it. Maybe I can get you to do

another sketch too."


Kay blushed remembering the sketch he had done of her earlier, before the

hatching.


It was then that Kay saw the man who had to be her new mate come and lead

her away. He sighed lightly, and turned back to his two companions, who

were talking about their dragons. Lyonnia turned and looked at him, a bit

unsure. He realized that she didn't know he could read lips. He went ahead

and handed her the slate as it was easier then explaining.


After writing that his dragon's name was Sabbith, and seeing her write her

dragon's name, he erased the slate and was about to write that he could

read lips when a utensil went whizzing by his head. He looked up in

surprise as Lyonnia was blushing bright red.


Both girls quickly moved to pick up the fork when Lyonnia froze. Her back

was to Kay so he couldn't see what she was saying, but whatever it was

staggered the older girl. Tera went white as sheet.


>"What did you say?" He saw Tera say. Lyonnia's back was still to Kay, but

he saw Tera's next response, "How do you know about Trap?"


He watched as Tera began to explain, then noticed that Lyonnia, with her

back still to him had tensed. Tera noticed and stopped talking taking the

girl's arm and sitting her back at the table, "Are you okay?"


Kay thought Tera had great presence of character to help the woman, as she

still looked quite shaken over what had happened. Kay was confused. He only

knew it had something to do with Tera's brother, whom she was looking for.

NRPG: Regarding the rumors, I think Kay has finally made enough friends

among the dragons (a lot probably last night at the beach party :}) that he

is hearing all the dirt :}


I think there was a little mix up with Lyonnia and Danielle's posts, as I

believe Danielle and Tera's first conversations was a breakfast and this is

Lunch, so I hope I haven't agrivated things. Let me know if I have.


Okay that's evnough for now I think :} Kat, you can write the lesson for

later if you want.


Lyn, let me know if you are still getting strange code in this one as well. I'm trying something new.. again :)
