Danielle watched as the two of the caravan teased Kay and saw Kay cower 
in terror. Who were these two who taunted him so? She was angry. Kay had 
been her friend since the day she had brought him back to the warren. She 
saw Sabbith loom over Kay protectively and the reacted when one of them 
said laughingly "a dragonrider? Him?"

"Yes, Him" Danielle spat out at them angrily. "And a damn good one he is 
too."

Both of them looked astonishly at the beautiful woman who was standing up 
for their idiot cousin.

Danielle watched as Kay turned away from the two  and her eyes softened 
as she looked at him and then turned back to the two "He's also one hell 
of a man." She looked disgustingly at them. "More than either of you will 
ever be."

She then turned and went over to Kay, softly touching him on the shoulder.

"Kay? I'm so sorry," she said softly. "I didn't know anyone could be 
so mean."

"Its not your fault" he signed to her and turned back away.

She then turned his face towards hers with one of her hands and lightly 
kissed him. "Come on, it will be fine." She smiled up at him.
She then quickly mounted Violet.

They took off and flew patrol and headed back towards where the acravan 
should be a short time later. It was quiet, too quiet. Danielle then 
noticed that the animals were missing.

(Dalanth says to land further a little away's, his rider is going to 
check out what is going on)

Danielle fumed, again being treated like a secondary in this. After 
landing she dismounted and moved slightly closer to the group. That blond 
haired man and the others had not been there before. My, he was good looking.
Danielle was puzzled. There was something about him that seemed so 
familiar. She had met this man before. But, surely she would have bedded 
one this good looking, and she remembered her lovers. She started to move 
forward a bit more to get a better look, when suddenly there was a 
commotion behind her and Lyonnia was gone.

(Violet? What happened?)

(a green dragon appeared and snatched her)

Danielle started to move towards the group when Violet informed her that 
H'nry had asked Dalanth to tell them to stay put.

Danielle saw H'nry and the blond haired man discussing things and she could
barely hear some of the words. "The Shadow?" Danielle thought. Surely she 
would recognize that name if she had met this man before. But she knew 
she knew him.

(Dalanths rider is staying, and so is Dianthus. We are to return to the 
warren)

Danielle began to protest then realized that the warren had to be 
informed. She headed back to Violet and soon they were off.

They appeared above the warren and landed quickly. She grabbed Kay's hand 
and they headed for Ophelia's office. The door opened before they even 
got there as Ophelia had heard from Beryth that something had happened.

"What happened?" she demanded

"The caravan got attacked, and Lyonnia got kidnapped." Danielle started 
to explain. She related all that had gone on and then added, "The leader 
was a blond haired man. He called himself the Shadow."
