"We're going to have a baby."

"A baby," Ga'brin repeated her words, on his face was a look of 
pure Ah!!.

Tera couldn't help but smile. "unhuh, a tiny little person, who's 
aim in life is to make sure that we will get next to no sleep for 
the next six months or so, and keep was worrying for the next 
sixteen years or more. A baby."

"A baby! How? When?" came his stunned reply.

Tera laughed as she watched her mate absorb the news. The look on 
his handsome face, put all her fears brought up by the mating 
flight, to rest.

"Well love, if you don't know *how*, I could always call your 
mother back into the room to explain it to you," she teased him 
with an innocent look on her face. "As for when, Sarrine thinks 
it'll be close to eight months.

"No, I mean how could you be pregnant, you've been taking your 
birth control every morning, haven't you?" he asked his tone 
confused. He'd seen the little bottle in the cabinet  in the 
bathroom.

A guilty look came over her face. "Until I met you, I had no need 
for it. I guess with everything else going on around us......I 
just forgot it was there."

His smile grew as he began to shake his head, "My beautiful 
silly girl. How glad I am that you didn't need it before. 

<We're going to have a hatchling.> came Sundellath's excited 
thoughts.

[ Humans call them babies. ] Preston remarked showing off his 
greater knowledge.

<I have to tell all my friends.> Sundellath ignored him. She 
finally had something to gossip about that she could tell the 
others.

[ Now I know why your human calls you silly. ] Preston gave a 
dragon sigh.

<Oh like you haven't already told Gushine!> Sundee snorted.

[ That's different, ] Preston protested. [ Gushine's rider is 
my human's patrol partner. He should know.]

<Yeah right.> Was the midnight blue's sarcastic reply.

"Well love," Ga'brin laughed as he reached to take her hands in 
his, his black eyes glazing lovingly into hers. "I sure hope you 
weren't planing on keeping the baby a secret. If so, I'm afraid 
it's to late. Our two blues will have already spread it about the 
Warren by now."

"Frankly I'm surprised Sundee was able to keep it to herself for 
this long," Tera giggled as she confessed. "It was all I could do 
for the last two days, to keep her quiet until I was sure. I 
wanted to tell you last night about my appointment with your 
mother......but the time just didn't seem right."

His eyes met hers, as his worries about her reaction to 
yesterdays mating flight, came back to him. But he found he 
didn't have to worry. All he could see was her love for him 
shining in her green eyes.

Ga'brin groaned as a thought came to him. 

"You know love, We're not going to have any privacy now, don't 
you?" His face took on a look so comically sad, that Tera had 
to laugh. "Between my mother and my sister, Abby, constantly 
dropping by to check on you, we'll never have anytime alone." 

Tera reached up with her arm, her fingers slipped around to the 
back of his neck and pulled his face closer to her own.

"Then isn't it lucky that we live on the second tier of the 
cliffs?" she whispered as her lips brushed his. "It'll make it 
that much harder for them to suddenly drop in on us."

"Honey love," he replied as his tongue came out to trace her 
lips. "You don't know my mother and sister all that well."

Tera sighed, "I think I'm about too."

"Let's go home."

(Ben'sar:) 

Ben'sar was feeling a little confused. Every since he'd met 
Lyonnia at his brother's the other night, he'd been thinking 
about her. They had seemed to hit it off pretty good that night, 
at least he had thought so. 

When word had come about her being kidnapped by that Shadow guy, 
he had wanted to join those flying to her rescue. Had he joined 
at the last hatching, nothing would have stopped him. 

He'd tried to find his brother, Ga'brin, hoping to get a ride 
there, but no one could tell him where he was. Abby had told him 
he was crazy, but she's just a girl, he'd told himself. She didn't 
understand things like this. Just wait until she got interested in 
some guy, and he was in trouble. Then let her tell him he was 
crazy.

Something about Nia's red hair caught his eye. The color alone 
made her stand out from any other girl in the Warren. And the way 
her dark green eyes had lit up when she had laughed over one of 
his jokes, made him want to keep her laughing.

When he had heard about her safe return to the warren, he had 
tried to see her, but he got there in time to see them leading 
her away towards the Warrenlady's offices, and knew he'd lost 
his chance. 

It wasn't until the next morning that he had the chance to see 
her again. This time she was running out of the Warrenlady's 
office in tears. He'd called after her twice before she seemed 
to hear him and stopped, waiting for him to catch up.

Not knowing what to sat to make her feel any better, he had 
offered her an ear if she needed to talk to someone. When she'd 
excepted his company, and asked if he could come to her 
apartment, it had floored him. Alone with a beautiful girl.....

Later after he had left, he'd made a promise to himself that 
he would get to know her better if he had to get his brothers 
mate to have a dinner party every night of the week.

Anyone wanting to hand out cigars. .remember......it'll be awhile
before we find out if it's a boy or girl....or one of each
