[DL-T] Ga'brin Plays Mother Hen
by

When Ga'brin insisted on taking Tera back home to the Warren, she
was more than willing to agree. Stopping just long enough to inform
H'nry that he wanted to get her back to be checked over by a healer, Ga'brin
mounted Preston and then gave the order for both dragon's
to teleport.

Knowing how his mate would balk at a trip to the med center,
Ga'brin had Preston contact Lofflossit and asked if his rider
would please make sure to have Sarrine waiting at their apartment
when they arrived. Tera couldn't say no to having her mate's mother
check her over. Sarrine wouldn't allow it. After all she was the
babe's grandmother.

(Tera and Ga'brin's apartment later)

"Both mother and baby are doing fine," Sarrine told her worried
son after leaving Tera in the bedroom to get dressed. ""But if
they want to stay that way, she's going to have to curtail these
kinds of activities." the healer's voice was scolding, as was the
'you should take better care of you mate' look she throw at her
son.

"Believe me mother," Ga'brin swore. "Next time I'll keep her tied
to the bed and have Preston sit on Sundellath too keep her from
going."

"I'd like to see that Love," Tera quipped as she came out of the
bedroom. Her flying leathers having been replaced by a lose
flowing blue caftan. She was in the process of tying her long
blond hair back into a pony tail. "That's something we haven't
tried yet,"

Sarrine laughed out loud at the look of pure shock that came
across her son's face.

"Well you'll just have to wait until another night to try it,"
she chuckled. "I want Tera to get a good uninterrupted night
of rest. Strictly rest." Her dark gray eyes sent a warning glance
in her son's direction.

"Hey tell her, it was her idea," he protested, meeting his
mother's eye with a wide eyed innocence that didn't fool his
mother for a second. The thought of having his mate tied to the
bed, helpless to stop him as he gave her pleasure, was doing
things to a certain part of his anatomy. Then another more
sobering thought came to mind.

"Mother, how will the baby affect us from doing...Ah...will it
be safe if we.. " he fumbled over the words he wanted to say.
Sex was something he'd never talked to his mother about.

"Yes son," Sarrine teased, knowing full well what he was trying
to say, but having to much fun watching her strong confident son
stumbling around the subject of sex like a teenager learning
about it for the first time.

"What my silver tongue mate here is trying not so suddenly to
ask," Tera joined in, elbowing her mate as she sat down on the
couch next to him, "Is how much will the baby be affected by us
making love?"

Sarrine took pity on her son, knowing just how the first time
father felt. Gabben, her own mate had been just the same way,
when she herself had been pregnant with Ga'brin, and if the son
was anything like the father...Tera was in for a lot of spoiling,
as well as a few other things Sarrine would warn her about later
when her son wasn't around.

"It won't harm the baby any," she told them in her best healer
tone of voice. "But as the baby grows it may become a little
uncomfortable for Tera." she saw the tender look Ga'brin gave
his mate. "That doesn't mean you'll have to stop loving each
other, you'll just have to be more careful and....inventive. I
have some books in my office that you can come by and look at
that might be of some help, " she offered, barely surpressing
the chuckle that threaten to give way at seeing the look on
Ga'brin's face.

"Or," she couldn't help teasing. "You could just ask your father
to tell you what he did at the time."

"Mother!!"

Later that night while the Shadow and his men were pulling off
the big caravan swap, Tera and Ga'brin were entertaining a few
friends who had stopped by to see for themselves that Tera was
all right.

Lyonnia had stopped by briefly with Ga'brin's younger brother,
Ben'sar to pay her respects and upon finding out about the baby,
she was thrilled. But when Tera reminded her friend that they
still needed to have a talk about the 'other thing' that
happened, Lyonnia got a little quiet.

"It was nothing," she told Tera then escaped back to Ben'sar when
Tahlaya showed up. The two of them left afterwards.

Tera had Sundellath contact Cloud to invite his rider to their
little party. She figured that if Laya was ever going to find out
if anything happened the night of the beach party it might as well
be tonight. She was playing match maker, she knew, but it didn't
matter. She was so happy living with Ga'brin that she wanted her
best friend to be just as happy. Laya seemed to like Storm, so why
not throw them together as see if anything came of it.

When Storm arrived, just a little confused by the invite, one look
from Tera in Tahlaya's direction was all it took for him to
understand her reasoning. When she brought a bottle of red wine
and two glasses over and sat it down on the table between the two
of them, Storm and Laya, then told them the time for truth had
come.....Storm just laughed and Laya's look told her to expect some
kind of pay back. She just smiled knowingly back at them and went
back and sat next to Ga'brin on the couch.

Much later after their guest had departed, while Tera laid wrapped
in her lovers strong embrace, the two of them talked about what
happened earlier. About Trap showing up when he had, "and don't
think I'm not grateful that he did," Ga'brin told her, "But now
that we know who the men were who were trying to kill you, I can
rest a little easier."

Tera snuggled closer to him, "Don't I know it," she sighed,
agreeing with him. "I just wish this whole thing with Trap were
over and he was back here at the Warren where he belongs. I'll
feel a whole lot better when H'nry finds out the Trap was working undercover
with the Warrens against the raiders and not as a
raider. Maybe then he'll be able to forgive himself for Nia's
being taken."

"That might take awhile love," Ga'brin sighed, knowing how much
his mate hoped that her brother would be welcomed back with open
arms as the hero. "No man likes to be taken and made to look like
a fool. That's what Trap did to H'nry. It may take awhile for
H'nry to get over it, even knowing the truth."

"That's what I'm afraid of," Tera said softly, knowing her mate
was right. "Worst than that, is how H'nry's going to feel when
he finds out that the man he's considered his good friend knew
about it all along and didn't tell him." Thinking about Sandor.

" I guess only time will tell," Ga'brin said. "You though need
to get some sleep, so that when you're rested we can try out
what you wanted to do earlier."

Tera moved against him in a very suggestive manor, "What's wrong
with trying it out now," She smiled wickedly.

"Oh no," Ga'brin laughed swatting her bottom. "You heard what
mother said ..rest.. and tonight you'll get your rest...even if
it kills me."

Nrpg:

Kat: Tera hasn't forgotten that she has something to tell you.
You'll have to decide if you want to hear it or not. IF not, Tera
won't understand why you won't talk to her....after all you're
her friend.....

Sarah: Have fun with Ben'sar....don't stay up to long though.
*grin*

And Lea.....Well what about Storm....and Pay back :)
