[DL-T] An Unsatisfactory Conclusion

NRPG: This takes place near dusk, after the riders' return to the warren. It
is still several hours before the Shadow making the switch at the caravan. At
this point I believe that Sandor knows about the upcoming switch (but I can't
find the post with the details).

H'nry left Lyonnia on the green and headed for Sandor's office. About halfway
there, he changed his mind and cut through the dining hall, grabbing a mug of
mead and a large piece of bread. He ate quickly, but at least hunger wouldn't
be an issue if his meeting went long.

Several riders he knew asked about the little outing to the village as H'nry
cut through the dining hall. H'nry answered in vague terms about the events
and sucess of the mission. H'nry walked down the quiet hall to Sandor's
office. He didn't know if Sandor was in because he hadn't had Dalanth ask
Dinnan. H'nry wanted to just arrive. He knocked on the door and Sandor
called for him to enter from within.

H'nry entered and Sandor motioned him to a chair. Sandor had brought his
dinner to his office and was eating at his desk. "What did you find?" he
asked.

"We found nothing," H'nry replied, "and that bothers me. There was evidence
of a raider presence in the village, but most of them weren't there."

"So," Sandor said evenly, "Kay almost got killed, Sabbith had to flame a man
to prevent it, and Tera almost got killed again, and you found nothing. Was
it worth the trip?"

"Sabbith did what he had to do. I'll speak with Kay about it later. Tera
was, as it was related to me, never in any real danger," there was something
about tera, though, "and yes, it was worth the trip. We discovered that about
40 raiders who normally live in the village aren't there. The mystery now is,
where are they? Are they with the Shadow and what is he up to?"

"I'm sure that they simply saw you coming and dissapeared into the woods.
After the last raid, the Shadow probably is lying low."

"No, I don't think so. The logical thing to do would be to hide for a while
after his last stunt. He knows that we know that, and I'd bet he'll do
exactly the opposite. I'd recommend dispatching riders to guard the caravan
at all times," H'nry said.

"No! No, that won't be necessary. There are enough men with the caravan to
ward it against a raid."

"I disagree..."

"I don't care," Sandor cut H'nry off, "I'm not going to have riders out with
the caravan at all hours based on your hunch. The caravan is in no danger at
this point."

H'nry rose up out of his chair and leaned across Sandor's desk, "I hope you're
right Sandor. I hope you're right."

H'nry turned and left Sandor's office, closing the door a little too hadr
behind him. Something here didn't feel right. Sandor wasn't acting like
himself lately. There was something about Tera that also didn't seem right.
H'nry wanted to talk to her as well.

*Dalanth find out from Sundallath where Tera is.*

<Sundee says she's gone to bed for the evening.>

Oh, thought H'nry.

NRPG:
Ok, folks, is anyone horribly opposed to Sandor dying a hero's death when all
this comes crashing down? I have a few ideas percolating that we can discuss.

H'nry's looking for the truth. Barb, he'll see Tera in the morning and he'll
make the connection to Trap...his reaction'll be interesting.

I'm out of ideas to extend the day of the council. Does anyone else have any,
or, Lyn, can you play Ophelia in two places at once?

                            Respectfully submitted,
                                H'nry - Dalanth
